Bollywood actor Jiah Khan commits suicide

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Jiah Khan committed suicide at her Juhu residence on Monday night.

The 25-year-old actor is learnt to have hung herself inside the house.

Jiah was brought up in England and had shifted to Mumbai with her mother Rabiya recently.

"She had been depressed for some time due to personal issues, but was keen on returning to acting soon. She was also meeting filmmakers regarding projects," sources close to the actress said.

Also known by the name Nafisa Khan, the actress made her Hindi film debut in 2007 opposite Amitabh Bachchan in the controversial Nishabd. She also acted opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini and Akshay Kumar in Housefull.

Police sources said that the incident happened at about 11pm and no suicide note was found. The body has been sent to Cooper Hospital for postmortem.

Tanuj Garg of Balaji telefilms and friend of Jiah said, "We knew each other socially and often discussed our London connection. She was a soft-spoken, sweet and a pleasant individual. Truly shocked at the news!"

Amitabh Bachchan, who heard of the news online tweeted, "-WHAT ...!!! Jiah Khan ??? what has happened ? is this correct ? unbelievable !!!"

Jiah had a fortnight back tweeted, "So sorry I have been off twitter! Took a bit of a break from twitter verse.. sometimes u need a sabbatical to recollect ur thoughts."

People do know Depression and realize it..fact is.... she would have definitely showed warning signs to her close friends and family that she is really really unhappy about how things are going .. Its obvious who ever was close to her failed to either identify it or solve the problem ....

Depression is a bad - bad psychological problem , why do you think schizophrenic people `hear` sounds? U can say it to them a million times that there is not sound/no one talking , but sadly its very hard to change the subconscious.

some people have nothing in life but still never give up in life and keep fighting

some people have fame/wealth/beauty but still have reasons to end their lives

we think all is well in lives of actor/ actress after watching their smiley faces on Tv screen but this tragic incident tell us different story. RIP

She may not have a friends/relatives who were sincere to her. Many female actors go through this. People stick to them only for their money. It is even worse in India due to the conservative society and the shady nature of film industry.
