The administrator of Bois Locker Room, a controversial Instagram group where schoolboys discussed raping their classmates, has been arrested by the cyber crime cell of the Delhi Police.

This is the second arrest by the police which took suo motu cognisance of the happenings in the group after screenshots were shared on social media and registered a case. A 15-year-old boy was earlier apprehended after questioning.

Investigators said the group had 22 members in all, and two of them were adults studying in colleges. At least 20 of them are studying in at least four prominent schools in Delhi-NCR, they further said.

On Tuesday, 10 members were questioned over phone.

The devices of the identified members of the group have been seized and sent for forensic analysis.

The cyber crime unit has asked for information about the alleged group and its members from Facebook-owned social networking platform Instagram. Their reply is awaited, an official said.

The role of other members is being ascertained, said investigators.

The content on the group included a remark by one member who suggested collecting a group of boys to gang rape a classmate, and several photos of schoolgirls that were accompanied with texts objectifying them. There were also copies of photos posted by girls on Instagram that were then appended with lewd and violent remarks.

The conversations were exposed after one of the boys in the group took screenshots and passed it on to someone else, said the officer, before it was posted on social media by one of the girls who was targeted.

The police have invoked sections of the Information Technology Act and the Indian Penal Code dealing with the distribution of pornographic content and making objectionable remarks about women.

On Monday, authorities of one of the schools – where the whistleblower student studied - filed a complaint with the Delhi Police. “Once the screenshots emerged in the public domain, the group was deleted and another one created. Some girls were added in the new group to mislead police,” said an investigator.

The original group was created in early April, the investigator quoted above said

It was a heinous act no doubt about that. But here it is seen nudes have been shared which is given by girls so can the girls also be not responsible enough to share nudes to whoever boys it may be and chat like this online. What do you say?

Their thoughts of violence and going about in gangs leads to crimes like the Hyderabad gang rape and murder case from 2019.

It is a telling fact that while the Indian Establishment speaks out and acts against the violence of the communist Naxalites it takes no concrete steps to eliminate or minimize violence elsewhere.

Indian society should be made a gentler place.

I already know what RSS cadres will say.

"Boys will be boys. Indian Boys will be Indian boys."

And subsequently it will be swept under the rug.

India's original sin, the partition violence and the idolization of it, has bred a whole new generation of Hindu stalwarts who believe there is honor and prestige in raping, torturing, and murdering innocent minorities and women.

Indian theft of Kashmir and massacres in Punjab are having blowback on Indian society as a whole, and it is toxic.

Just one word. Sick. Have personally noticed sick mindsets some people have which has unfortunately become the norm nowadays. This is really alarming actually. But there are many instances of good things as well.
Don't you think it is all too common now a days we are the outliers here? Society as a whole became depraved.

Yes, there is a lot of moral degradation that you notice nowadays. But that's bound to happen as this wave of modernization has come all of a sudden and people are still trying to get used to it. Globalization has caused the clash of civilization and many people are still confused about many things.

It will take a few years for humans to adjust before another important wave strikes us. But that time, we will be better prepared to deal with it.

Yes, there is some moral degradation but you can't overlook the positives. In fact, the positives outweigh the negatives by a huge margin as compared to say, what was seen even 100 years ago.

I don't see what the apologism is about. Deal with these scumlords.

I read one b.s. article making all sorts of excuses by taking its conclusion from a "psychologist" instead of some women's rape crisis director.

Apparently, during lockdown, males become frustrated so that would be the excuse these folks need...and maybe we should infer that lockdown is to blame. Hey, in fact let's just blame Covid itself for the additional women's abuse and rapes that will occur. These boys should walk off Scott free with a bit of remedial homework therapy apparently.

"However, Dr Kumar told the BBC that going after the members of the group in public on the internet was counterproductive and would not solve the issue in the long term.

"The aim is not to damage them. The aim is to get them out of this kind of behaviour," she said, adding that these chats were typical of the kind of high-risk behaviour that children of this age indulged in.

"The problem also is that with the internet, children are much more exposed to this kind of content, and they think that this is desirable behaviour. The only thing that can help is prolonged counselling so that they can see what they did was wrong," she said.

"Going after them will only make them more angry and defensive, and will not solve the issue. We want these boys to reform and become better members of society." "

Load of rubbish. Punish the culprits severely - sharia is spot on for this sort of nonsense...and demand massive societal reform if you genuinely want to fix the problem.

As someone said earlier, had this occurred in Pakistan or in a group of Muslims, can you imagine the outrage? Overnight there would be cries of outrage demanding reform of Islam, condemnation from all grand muftis, shared guilt for all Muslims, rape-jihad special feature documentaries, historical reports of Muslim whatsapp groups from the 8th century calling for similar acts and goodness knows what else. Why the double standards and "a slap on the wrist will do, it's just lewd chat between boys, but not incitement to sexual violence"?

According to Western narrative, anytime a Muslim does something bad, Islam is to blame, and when he does something good, it is inspite of it.

Western obsession with writing out Islam from scientific discoveries to outright plagiarism of Muslim scientists and villifying and otherizing Muslims is well known.

That is where our own liberals learn points to attack our religion, culture, and our identity.

Edward Said, a well-known Arab Christian, wrote a famous book entitled "Orientalism" to bring attention to this problem.

Our Indian members are just using cheap shots, when they get called out, they simply change the subject of attack. Classic Indian diversion tactics, which @PAKISTANFOREVER aptly referred to as Indianisms.

Apparently the so called defenders of western ideology wants barbaric incidents to be punished in harsh way like the Saudi still they would blame muslims for the law.

Conservative society creates men/boys who judge women for their dressing style, and sexual preferences.
This problem would need decades of education and prosperity to resolve.
