@Hamartia Antidote, I watched a bit of NASA-Boeing live news conference and they are constantly referring to "automation". What does that mean ?? Is it like the Soyuz craft which I believe can automatically dock with the ISS.

.
The US is finally following the Russians and the Chinese with automation instead of manual docking.

Good achievement by the US.

This will end America's humiliation of not having the capability to send people into space. Only Russia and China have this capability since 2011.

Resupply ships like Dragon, Progress, the ESA ATV ,and the Japanese HII are automated all the way up to the ISS and after docking release for the trip down. I’m not sure if the Japanese one does automated docking...the rest do.

Craft that are not 100% resupply ships will obviously have controls to allow astronauts to move around.

NASA Says Boeing Starliner Will Not Be Able To Reach Space Station

:usflag::rofl::rofl:

Chinese trolls at their best.

They must have launched on a Chinese CZ-5..well actually it made it to orbit so it can’t be the useless CZ-5. :china:

You get that thing fixed yet? It was supposed to be fixed last year, then delayed to early this year...then mid...then December. it’s the 20th of December and no launch..

Boeing and NASA officials, including NASA Starliner astronaut Nicole Mann, have emphasized that had astronauts been on board, they could have saved the mission by taking control of the spacecraft once it was clear that the automation wasn't working.

"If we had crew on board they would have been safe and we may be docking with ISS tomorrow" Bridenstine said.

Really stupid to mock the US considering the achievements the US has accomplished in space.

Yup. But since 2011 they've been paying their enemy Russia to take their astronauts to space.

But as usual, Hollywood propaganda machine has been churning out space movies this decade giving the impression that the US sends it's astronauts in to space US rockets and space shuttles.

By the way, I watched John Wick 3: Parrabellum last night. What a super cool movie especially the first fight scene in the museum.

Loser and try blame China. Serve you American right. Big mouth American.

They did it 50 years ago doesnt mean they can do it now.. Boeing docking proves that point. They have all the advice for those who did it and yet mistake and fault can still happen.

Ok Li.

LOL... Now some loser try talk about past glory? Space shuttle proves to be a massive failure. Yes, it has a bigger payload but more maintenance fee than soyuz and shenzhou in order to reuse it. No escape option if launching failed Colombo disaster proves that. That is why NASA abandon it. All what you try prove just show the genuis and brilliant of China space program. Our safe program is the safest. No a single astronaut killed so far unlike US.
:enjoy: This chart is also a very ignorant western made chart that show no knowledge of China space future program. Typical american self bragging style. China has already initial and even tested a miniature furture capsule and space shuttle. China is not sitting back and do nothing for future.

WTF? The Space Shuttle flew for over 30 years. That's a lot longer than any little 3 seater sh*t you guys have flown.

Your manned "safe" program over the last 16 years has lifted a whopping 11 passengers into space. You guys have been acting like scared little girls afraid of the dark. Meanwhile the Shuttle launched 833 passengers into space.

If anything your "manned" program is a complete joke.
The sad thing is Jeff Bezos will probably send more tourists into space in one year than you accomplished in 16.
