the Muslim civilization(s) at least from Bengal to Punjab already contain Hindu/Buddhist/pre-Muslim components. therefore what is considered 'Muslim' in the subcontinent is already a multiplicity of cultures existing in and coming-from-points-west of the subcontinent.
whatever BD is, it is supposed to be a Muslim society with non-Muslim minority. Muslim communities and Muslim cultures grew in the subcontinent obviously have been inclusive of the Muslims' pre-Islamic cultures. the pre-Islamic indigenous ancestors chose Islam and helped build Muslim empires. so chosing a 'Muslim'-sounding name (instead of a clown-ish name) does not mean you are exclusive of pre-Islamic past.

when did i tell you i am Muhajir? i am full Bengali. fyi Muslims were persecuted in Bengal for a long time under Hindus. of course you would brush that under the carpet and keep showing your love for every bit of Muslims' culture replaced by Hindu culture. and that is what we "achieved" in 1971. everything from our national anthem to the formal Bengali spoken on TV, everything is against the existence of Muslim culture. and it's funny you are talking about having even more Hindu culture. no institutional attempt at formalizing Musalman Bengali language or no official acceptance of Urdu.
