BNP tries to forge alliance against militancy leaving Islamist Jamaat aside under pressure

We only had idune and al zakir on this side. Their counterparts from opposite side were missing in pdf. Thankfully Russell and Bongbang have stepped up to fill up the void.

Who's side are you on?

As for personality cults...yes, not unlike many political parties in developing countries. But, the AL did not simply spring about around Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib...the party is a part of the pre-independence struggle. Not to mention, once Hasina is gone - her son will not be able to take charge. He was raised overseas and he simply doesn't have 'it'.

Mujib distended also left Islam for other religion. Good riddance.

Whereas Tareq Zia will without doubt become the head of BNP in the very near future and also PM in the medium term. The Army had a chance to kill him, instead they merely beat him and he's now living it up in London...oh well, we can't always get what we want.

I feel your pain but you have no other option but suck it up.

BNP/JeI seems to be Pakistani boot licker alien Muslim league wing. But the better Bengali Muslim League Leaders divorced them and ultimately given birth to AL. The trio whom given birth to nation for Muslims in the east such as Suharwardy, AK Fazlul Haq, Bhashani and their proponents later gave birth to Bangladesh. While those alien Muslim leaguers always worked against them and accused them as traitors. Its started from creation of Pakistan and still same. Btw JeI/Razakars actually rejected the idea of Pakistan and Bangladesh both, in reality they are Indian element.
Trying a bit too hard in order to legitimize Awami League! If Hasina and AL were part of "Muslim League wing" they would have jailed all those people who insulted the prophet Muhammad (SA) and Islam but instead they jail those who insult Mujib (thus freedom of speech crap doesn't work here). Hasina wants to turn Bangladesh into a state where people see Mujib as a "godlike" figure and believe her family does what's best for the country.

heh... so called bnp intellectuals pretending like they want madam to ditch jamaat temporarily AGAIN - you can stop with the childish games, everyone sees it for what it is.

Jamaat-e-Islami is a liability, BNP does not need it as an ally, says pro-BNP professional Emajuddin

In the changed political context, Khaleda Zia no more needs the Jamaat-e-Islami as an ally, says a pro-BNP professional who is known to be an adviser to her.

Speaking at a discussion on Tuesday, former Dhaka University VC Emajuddin Ahamed described Jamaat as a ‘liability’.

“It seems that a political party is the major obstacle to a national unity...Khaleda Zia has already decided that the 20-Party alliance does not need that party,” he claimed.

Since then, BNP has been trying to form a new alliance by keeping Jamaat and other Islamist parties away.

Some pro-BNP professionals have also suggested ditching Jamaat.

Barrister Rafiq-Ul Huq, Professor Emajuddin and Ganasasthaya Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury advised the BNP to take political parties other than Jamaat on board in the national unity initiative.

Emajuddin on Tuesday said, “It (Jamaat) has become a liability. It’s not an asset now. So, if take this view into consideration, there is no obstacle (to keeping the party out of the alliance).”

People like Emaj Uddin is more of a liability than Jamaat.

Emaz uddin no one to BNP, -Mirza Fakrul, Secretary General, BNP

Kiya yeh Khula tazaad nahi, asli beizzati.

BNP has already ditched Jamaat. Jamaat was a liability to BNP. It was unwise for the BNP to surrender ministerial portfolios to the Jamaatis after the 2001 election. BNP should have formed the Cabinet only by its own MPs. Howerver, Jamaatis could have been given some decision making power by involving them in many National Assembly Committees.

BNP had more than 200 seats, so it was not proper to form a govt with Jamaat. Forging an election strategy is different from forging a Cabinet together. THis Cabinet forging has moved the BAL to go after their necks by hanging.

Jamaat is a terrorist organization and any who sympathize with it are also terrorists.
Please do not make mistakes. BNP is certainly not a Mulla party. It is a progressive party that does not want Indian shadow in BD. Is it a fault?

It seems BAL warriors in the PDF are worried if BNP discards Jamaat, it will cause BNP to gain international standing. The prospect of a fair and free election will cause the BAL leaders (big, small, petty and medium) to seek international Passports for themselves and their family members.

Indian posters, please resist the BAL swindlers from pole vaulting into your Holy Land.
