The motorcycle industry of Pakistan has been building up significant potential, particularly as the new generation of motorists and motorcycle-enthusiasts has been taking over. Looking to capitalize on this potential is Deewan Motors, who, according to Horsepower Pakistan, is planning to launch the BMW Motorrad in Pakistan.
The BMW Motorrad is the German automaker’s division that deals with the production, marketing, and sales of its motorbikes. The division produces and sells a wide variety of motorcycles such as sports bikes, superbikes, street bikes, trail bikes, adventure bikes, and long journey cruisers.

As the distributor of BMW passenger vehicles in Pakistan, Deewan Motors has decided to capitalize on the booming motorcycle market in Pakistan and plans to introduce a bike lineup here as well.

Although there are no confirmed reports about which motorcycles will be launched in Pakistan, it is speculated that the automaker is likely to sell smaller displacement motorcycles, like the 310 series and 400 series bikes.

These motorbikes are not for general use – the MW Motorrad is a premium brand that is globally renowned for its impeccable build quality, and comes with an extravagant price tag in even the ‘non-import’ markets.

As these motorcycles will be brought to Pakistan as Complete Built-up Units (CBU), they will be at least two times more expensive than they are in the markets where they are locally produced because of taxes and duties. Therefore, they will only be targeted at a small niche of enthusiasts with adequate purchasing power.

Ultimately, it is a positive development because with the presence of BMW in the Pakistani market, a lot of other foreign brands are likely to take note of it and consider expanding to this market.

Wah.... Awsome. Might cost around equivalent of 3000 euros.

Until today, i didn't even know BMW made bikes. A quick google search on the proposed bike models, show the customer segement they are targeting is very small. Even the cheapest bike they make will cost around 1,000,000 rupee.

Its still a good sign. It signals other manufactures to expand their market into Pakistan.

Good for the wealthy, for everyone else it's non news. If the govt can produce an environment where BMW can be encouraged to expand it's footprint in the country - then it might benefit everyone else too.

1 series, 2 series 3 series, and possibly the iQ range have potential in Pakistan if they can be built at competitive prices.

. . .
They can launch as much as they like but Pakistan must insist what ever is sold in the Pakistani market at least 30-50 % must be produced in side our borders. No wander we suffer with the trade deficits, few job opportunities and foreign exchange shortages. Rich few are screwing up the country and our government is happy to take import duty as benefit and then cry latter for import export deficit. Where is the government planning, forth sight and common sense.

This will be interesting to see since the 310 series bikes are made in India.

I’ll guess we’ll soon see BMW bikes in police fleets nationwide

Our local motorcycle user is tuned to the CD70 and 100 cc category motor bikes.
These BMWs all out of our league by a mile.

Yeah, these are targeted at a very small customer base. But the fact they are coming here, signals other manufactures that Pakistan market is open.

As long as the buyer has got legal money to purchase such an expensive item, its all good. We get to tax the purchases. Remember last month, we a Lambo will purchased and registered through proper channel. We collected 4.5million rupee in taxes on that.

As long as it leads to job creation.

That is the objective of the govt. BMW coming here is part of this

Made in Pakistan BMW bikes can be exported as the cost of producing them in Pakistan will be quite low.
