There was a time when majority in poor and downtrodden had no sense of morality, the elites where considered educated and close to religion...not the case anymore, the elite pool has been contaminated with a wave of new riches from corruption and hence what you eat is what you are, rotten from the core and they are the role model for middle class, that is where our middle class want to be, dont expect it getting any better for a long time to come.

As to military men holding bags, IF they are still wearing a uniform and doing it, then MI will be so far down their throats, sooner or later, they wouldn't know weather to swallow, or throw up. Secondly, and most importantly if Generals and other senior officers attend such parties, and do not provide a report of who was there, and what was discussed, they usually dig their own grave. Any sort of character flaw that can be leveraged is taken very seriously in the military, that is why some officers are retired when they reach Major / Lt.Col rank., and it's not because of their age.

Musharraf actually promoted a culture of "westernization" in the military. And not the whistle blower, being honest westernization . Thankfully that is being rolled back.
