Gardez, AFGHANISTAN (Reuters) - A suicide bomber detonated a motorbike packed with explosives outside a boys' high school in eastern Afghanistan on Monday, killing about 10 students, at least one U.S. soldier, and wounding a further 20 students, officials said.

The blast at about noon in Paktia province had targeted a convoy of U.S. soldiers and Afghan police officers, local officials said.

Only people with demented minds can target young school going children. "Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the families and loved ones of those affected in today's tragic events. However, these actions will not deter ISAF and its Afghan partners from working towards a more stable and secure Afghanistan," said Brig. Gen. Günter Katz, ISAF spokesperson. "Many of those who were killed today were seeking education, striving to learn as young people should do, or as was the case with the family, simply trying to live a life in peace and dignity. ISAF will continue to stand alongside the people of Afghanistan and the Afghan National Security Forces as they contribute to a better future."

These ruthless and brutal enemies target innocent children on both sides of the border. They are evil with death and destructing as part of their ongoing agenda. People of the region have suffered for long at the hands of these savage murderers. The people from both sides have already rejected theses barbarians. It is now time to stand together and beat this evil once and for all.

I think their target were the children. Anybody who collaborates with U.S. military personnel is fair game.

RIP for the brave soldier, and the innocent children.
