India needs to start taking OH&S more seriously. The work conditions in Indian factories and yards are appalling. If we want zero casualties and incidents we need to draft strict OH&S policies and make sure we implement them. We need to to do away with the so called "chalta hai" attitude and "jugaad", something the young Indians take pride in unfortunately. When it comes to people's life being at stake, someone's father, someone's husband, someone's son, a "jugaad" is just not good enough.

Having said that, accidents do happen, but when they start happening this often, then there is something definitely wrong and heads needs to start rolling.
