Dude, put yourself in afganistans shoes and think about it. Would you support a country who provides support and sanctuaries to your enemy. Both the alleged terrorist leaders of taliban were killed in pakistan. Pakistan started the game of proxies it should end it, it has no moral right to question others or complain.[/QUOTE]
Or why not close and fence the border like Pakistan and IndiaPakistan & China have joint border patrols. Why not Pakistan and Afghanistan? The Afghan gov't has been wanting them for years.
Pakistan started the game of proxies it should end it
go and check the situation at afghan border their are no soldier at afghan side they also promised to shut down radio towers at the border but they are still active. they cant even protect kabul with all their forces combine you are talking about joint patrol what a joke look at their army they have less soldiers then police officers in karachiThankfully, I don't have to. But the Afghan gov't did propose it 7-8 years ago. @SHAH820
yeah why trust pakistan? when afghanistan cant even shuts it radio tower at pak afghan border when they promised to shut them down
yeah why trust pakistan? when afganistan cant even put one soldier at their border.
yeah why trust pakistan when every taliban leader says india and afghanistan are involved in terrorism in pakistan and US former army chief also
yeah why trust pakistan when there are indian embassies in afghanistan where taliban is on control near pakistan border?
yeah why trust pakistan when indian former DGMO giving advice to do terrorism in pakistan
Well we can disagree on who started proxy war or not but you cant get away from the fact that talks are the only way to end violence. Durand line is just another left over piece from history, now just bcos they dont accept it does not give pakistan the right to support anti-afghan elements. More ever the era of changing borders by violence is over, syria is one good example what the end result might look like. Pakistan's concern or so called concern on durand line puts a big question mark on its confidence about its legality.Indians always seem to have selective amnesia when it comes to Pakistan. In the context of game of proxies involving Pakistan and Afghanistan it was the Afghans who started it. And even though I personally do not support our establishment's decision to support taliban, lets not try to pin all the blame on Pakistan.
No sane Pakistani will ever trust the Afghan government until it accepts the Durand line. If that means there will forever be proxies fighting, then so be it. But don't distort history, the Afghans started it when Pakistan was newly created. They did not realise Pakistan would grow stronger than them and turn the tables. And turned the tables we did.
India has a lot to answer for about proxies too. Respectfully, concentrate on answering those before lecturing others on proxies.

(Reuters) - An explosion hit the Pakistani city of Parachinar, in the remote northwestern tribal region, on Friday, killing at least five people and wounding 40, Ikramullah Khan, the local political agent, said.
Earlier this year, at least 21 people were killed when an explosion hit a vegetable market in Parachinar, near the border with Afghanistan.
