The willingness to fight, the leadership role, the commitment will have to come from the top

Who's taking responsiblity? Ttp or BLA? BLA never had capability of suicide bombing - a collaboration of ttp and BLA perhaps? I'd say cut off blochistan and kpk from Sindh and Punjab. At least some lives will be spared. Let them have their land.

Punjab is some what save from the menace of TTP and so does the Sindh, though violence in karachi has some footprints of Taliban, but that can be eradicated with targetted operation

Unfortunately human life is so cheap in Pakistan, that the powers that be, could not give slightest of **** about human life over their strategic goals.

So if at one point the powers that be in Pakistan decided to let go of blochistan and kpk, it will be because they've lost in their strategic goals. Not because hundreds of people are dying due to terrorism everyday.

Oh I've never asserted anything to the contrary - I'm just not convinced that our current gung-ho attitude, in the few instances it seems to have worked, is the way forward !

What we need is a National Counter-Terrorism Policy that deals with everything from certain Cultural Centers to certain other's funded Madrassas to Social & Economic Development to Neighborhood Watches to Capacity building & De-Politicization of the Police & Levies along with the formation of dedicated Rapid Reaction Teams for the task.

Do either of you think that our present crop of leaders have the brains to provide the strategy that is more than "Kill & Dump"? We tried that in 1970 too. We still have not learned anything.

Yeah, but at this time blochistan and kpk are a lost cause. Police in these provinces don't have a fighting chance against BLA and ttp. And they continue to be slaughter at the behest of these two.

And like I said, those in power in Pakistan, have turned a blind eye to this crazy violence because at the end they want to salvage something here - their strategic goals. Once that has been achieved, they will probably withdraw administration from their. Until then, continue to see the bloodbath.
