Blasphemy laws: ‘MQM will protect Pakistan from religious tyranny’

But Samajwadi Party is still the better party in UP. Azam Khan (best politician) wants the people to overthrow Mayawati.
I met a lot of SP members on my trip to Lucknow, they seem to be reasonable people.

Mayawati's party is better than SP. SP is something like Lalu Yadav from bihar drumming up the fear of minorities and living on the Muslim-Yadav votebank
.
It can be said tha Mayawati is doing something similar, (with Dalit-Backward votebank) with her crazy statues and all but atleast the statues give Dalits a sense of power (yes I know this is wierd) plus she doesn't shelter the SIMI

& who will protect pakistan & specially karachi from MQM????

7.5 billion dollar question is "Who will save MQM from jihadi mullahs and Ghazi Qadri wannabees??"

Atleast he dared to speak up against brutality using his 5 pounds phone card , Not acted like a hipocrat like others who are so politically sensitve that they dont even attend the funeral of people murdered by kutay ki nasal dehshatgard

Oh boy, anyone can dare speak in the air but what I call dareness is to come on the ground and then dare say those things - anyone can preach the mantras on the phone. If they (MQM) call themselves the protectors of Pakistan, why they couldn't brought peace to Karachi while in Govt for over 20 years now?

I'll give you a simple explanation; as much as this existing political scum is a curse to this land, MQM is the head of that scum. Get rid of the Head, all the scum is gone.

Maybe Baloch are confusing us Punjabis with you MQM terrorists.

In Punjab, we invite everyone and we dont kill any ethnicity, we are not like you indian immigrants. We have Baloch, Pukhtoon, Kashmiri, Sindhi, even Urdu speakers Mohajirs living their life as they want in Punjab province of Pakistan.

You indian immigrants kill Baloch in their own land. The original inhabitants of Karachi were Baloch and Sindhis not Uttar Pradeshis.

You are killing the very same people who welcomed you to their land in 1947.

Shame on MQM and those who support MQM.

Why is he not banned? I guess the standard for premium members has gone down. I didn't know racist and stupid posts were allowed on here :disagree:

Give equal rights to minorities: MQM

KARACHI:

Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s August 11, 1947 address in which minorities were given equal rights should be included in the Constitution of Pakistan as an Article 2B, to constitutionally assure them that we are all equal Pakistanis.

This demand was put forward by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Coordination Committee Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar on Sunday. He was addressing a condolence meeting for Bhatti at the press club on Sunday. Bhatti was assassinated in Islamabad on March 2. The condolence meeting was attended by scores of MQM coordination committee members, party activists and people from different faiths.

MQM leader Raza Haroon said that the MQM did not consider non-Muslims minorities. “They are Pakistani, the terrorists and those responsible for this brutal act are the minorities.” He promised that when the MQM comes to power, the word minorities would be removed from the Constitution.

The MQM has demanded that the government arrest slain federal minorities minister Shahbaz Bhatti’s assassins and remove terrorism and extremism from the country. Sattar claimed that the people would revolt and wipe out terrorism themselves if the government failed to take action.

A charged Sattar recited Urdu poetry to pay tribute to “the sacrifice Bhatti made for the country and the rights of minorities”. “Today your participation sends a message to the killers of Shahbaz Bhatti that they [terrorists] can kill him but they cannot demolish the ideology and thinking of people like Shahbaz Bhatti and Altaf Bhai”.

“We are with our Christian brothers and we assure them our full support,” he said, promising that the MQM would protect minorities.

Church of Pakistan’s Bishop Sadiq Daniel praised Shahbaz Bhatti in his address, calling him a polite and talented person. “If we are wasting our talent like this how can our Pakistan make progress?” he stressed.

Daniel claimed that this assassination was an attack on the government as well as on the Christians. Finally, he sent a message to the bereaved family, saying “we are with them in their misery and will struggle for them.” Afterwards, the participants lit candles for the deceased minister and observed silence for him at the press club’s main gate.

Congratulations on showing your true colors and your hate for Urdu Speakers. Your not alone though. Millions of other Pakistanis think the same way as you. I am very happy for most of my family members that chose to remain in India at least they are not discriminated on the base of their language. This country is filled with intolerance. Intolerance for religion, intolerance for ethnicity and language.
If it wasn't for us educated Mohajirs Karachi and Pakistan would have remained illiterate and poverty stricken. Don't forget it was us who were the most educated.
And I have personally seen how Urdu speakers are treated in Punjab. They call us Hindustanis there and question our loyalty. It looks like Pakistan was made only for Punjabis. No one else should have even come to this land.

btw it's interesting that the people that hate MQM are non Karachiites. The people responsible for crime here in Karachi are the migrants that come here for greed and money. They break the laws, they don't give a crap about this city. After they've made enough money they leave. Basically they treat it as a prostitute.

Just last month I was robbed by a person that couldn't even speak Urdu. And guess who tipped him about me? Some cops did. Forget Karachi these cops aren't even from Sindh.

Welcome speech by Altaf. Now, if only his senior party members can do the same while INSIDE Pakistan then I can respect that more. But sitting in London when his political party has been in power since at least 2002 is hardly convincing.
As I see it, both Taseer and Bhatti were PPP members who got killed because of the Blasphemy Law. As I see it, it is Sherri Rehman--another PPP member who is under threat because of the Blasphemy Law. All these three were outspoken critics of the Law while INSIDE Pakistan.
Talk is cheap Altaf Hussain. Come to Pakistan and lead from the front if you are a man. Until then, despite playing cowardice/pragmatic politics to survive till the next elections, the PPP remains the only outspoken liberal political party in Pakistan.

MQM is just using the name of mohajirs for their ill intentions for Pakistan and Pakistanis. Karachi is for all Pakistanis not only for Urdu speaker mohajirs.

Pakhtuns are the 2nd largest ethnic group in Karachi, and there are more Pakhtuns in Karachi than Kabul, Peshawar & Quetta. So you seriously have to stop this tirade against the Urdu speaking people.

And when did I say Pakistan is for only Punjabis. Pakistan is for every Pakistani citizen but the ones who are causing chaos (target killings) in the largest city of Pakistan should be punished. All Pakistanis should unite against MQM in Karachi.

The problem is, you are not aware of the history of Karachi. MQM is loved by everyone in Karachi, even a lot of moderate Pakhtuns support the MQM after they reformed their image. MQM has shifted from their thuggery image to being a mainstream, all-inclusive party that doesn't represent just Urdu speakers, but every other ethnicity in Pakistan. It has the majority support in Karachi, because of all the infrastructure development they have brought, alongside their moderate approach for Pakistan. The ANP plays the ethnic card against them, yet neither the ANP or the PPP has the majority support in Karachi like the MQM does. These are hard facts, & if you were familiar with the history of the city, you would know.

Oh no! MQM haven’t condemned the law in Pakistan. Does that mean they support it?. Read MQM Manifesto from 1989, MQM talked about monitories right and liberalism in 80’s , when the right wingers were in complete control. Educate yourself before spouting misguided information.

I personally believe, speaking as a Shia Urdu speaking Mohajir from Bihar, that we are not discriminated in Pakistan. An Urdu speaking person can do exactly the same things people from other ethnicities can do. There are many proud examples of powerful Urdu speaking figures in Pakistan. So I don't necessarily agree with you about everything you said above, but I admit there are many truths in your post about the biases within some Pakistani people against the Urdu speaking people. Yet, this has not affected the status of the Urdu speaking people in my opinion on a national level, maybe a bit on an individual level (even though personally I haven't felt it, & neither has anyone in my family). I respect your opinion though, because I know these are your honest perceptions & have an element of truth in them. Don't take things to heart brother, we are all Pakistanis. Talk to more people, show them that immense love that I know you have for Pakistan, & ignore the haters. Peace.

And yes, it is mainly the non-Karachiites that hate the MQM, there are no two ways about it. A large number of Pakhtuns in Karachi (Gulistan-e-Jauhar) & even many Baloch people (Lyari) are more favorable to the MQM than the ANP. Some extremists that have poured into Karachi have also been responsible for the Land Mafia in the city. I refuse to blame any ethnicity for Karachi's woes, but people forget that it is the ANP that plays the ethnicity card, when there are a huge number of Pakhtun & other non-Mohajir groups that are an integral part of the MQM. ANP does not represent all Pakhtuns.
