Blasphemy charges: Out of fear, Ahmadi family on the run

i would like Pakistanis members here to tell me if they feel this law is justified and actually support this law?

Its a man made law. No where in Quran or Prophet's books "his saying" and "his actions" are any indication of such a law. Its is more of a ego satisfaction thing then anything else.

. .
i dont even know if its ego......it just shows insecurity of some people

actually, the seeds for this law were sown --ironically, under a "secular" civilian government which (as they always do) bow down and cow down to the hard-right in the interests of vote-bank politics

of course it's a man-made law....where the hell in the Quran does it say to kill blasphemers for Gods sakes

.
Lemme just add that Christian relative of mine almost lost one of his properties because some people from his town tried to accuse his son of blasphemy. Just adding this in since it corresponds to the thread.

.
Heres a hypothetical scenario......I live in some rural village area somewhere, Im in love with a girl, but i see that my Ahmedi neighbour is talking to her and he's already winning her heart over

i can go fabricate some BS story and make graffiti on the wall against "......."(i dont want to even use the name in this context).
and then I could go running around saying look what this bastard did.......arrest him, etc.

is that right? I bet you in less developed rural areas where people are not educated well --i could pull that off.

.
Even though it is a man made law, people even high ranking politicians have lost their lives in trying to abolish this law. In return the killers have been praised. Just goes to show how religious intolerance runs deep in Pakistani society. No politician has spoken against the blasphemy law. Salman Taseer did and the result was a few bullets in his body and now he's buried 10 feet under the ground. Sherry Rehman spoke out and she was on the run. Even people's beloved Imran Khan could not condemn the blasphemy law, when asked if he would remove the blasphemy law he said No, never I would "reform it".
Just goes to show how dangerous these religious bigots are, even politicians are scared of them.
Thanks a lot Bhutto and Zia Kutt@

.
actually, taseer was in favour of amending the law....he wasnt in favour of having it repealed

i was no fan of his, but on his views against blasphemy law being abused i 100% supported him in that regard and its unfortunate that some holier-than-thou nutjob felt it was necessary to shoot him over it

These Pharoah like leaders and politicians are hypocrite of highest order. The step salman took to abolish this law was a western sinister plan to stir conflict within Pakistani society which they accomplished and salam lost his life because of his greed. He can not be a hero when he worships his masters like Zardari and western agendas.
Liberal, and extremist Muslims are scums who have molded the shape of this religion to suite their personal desires.

In real life the girl wouldn't even be talking back the Ahmedi boy lol.

Salman rusdie is also in favor of abolishing of this law so is he also your hero? In fact he is a hero to liberal world because his life is in danger and still he speaks out.
Just because someone is being a dheet and puting his life in danger does not mean he is a hero. This is the problem with Pakistanis. If someone dies with a message he/she becomes a god! I bet if that low life women Veena dies she will become a hero because she was a dheet ***** who did not give a f.

well it would probably be the other way around....ahmedis tend to be self-isolating. They only marry amongst eachother....as for the girls, well they are very strict on purdah if i am not mistaken

Saddam Hussain was a arsehole but didnt he become a hero?

if Veena Malik was killed by some 'religious' fanatic, she'd probably become some kind of symbol or hero for the "liberals"

in that sense, Taseer's killing was a tragedy not because it gave the impression that liberals cant have a voice....but it actually made him out to be a sort of "hero" for some......me personally, i could care less. We have bigger issues than to discuss heros. The only heros I know are dead anyways --save for a small select few who are still alive.

Taseer was a crude politician, he was arrogant and power hungry......but at least he stood up for Aasia Bibi who was merely being villified and mentally tortured due to a few fanatics who had a grudge against her. I dont have access to the facts, but this is my feeling at least.

on the whole however, i think its only western media with its nefarious agenda --that tries to make Pakistan seem more intolerant than it really is. If you look at other countries in the region (including india) Pakistan is much more tolerant.

You proved my point. If you wanna be a hero, just die while saying something really stupid.

Liberals are entitle to their freedom as long as they do not deprive Muslims from their religious rights by indoctrinating non-islamic lifestyle on them. If liberal Muslims think their stance on Veena is correct then they are 1000% wrong because no where in islam does it allow a muslim women to pose naked for publicity. As long as if she was not a Muslim then Muslims should not have any right to speak against her.

All BS. Taseer was a scum period. Did he ever speak against force prostitution in Pakistan that is even committed by rich ****** elites like himself? What about acid victims? What about sexual harassment women face when they go to police station for justice? His ****** mouth would be shut then because it does not suite his master's interests! Like I said, even salman rusdie is against blasphemy laws and faces death threats so taseer's stance on agent bibi proves nothing other then the fact that he was a hypocrite.
No matter how cruel mullahs are you still cant divorce yourself from Islam.

So the liberal Pakistani try to impress their western masters by parading their women half naked, and men dressed up in women's cloths? No wonder why this nation is facing punishments from Allah on daily bases.

.
so its a personal agenda...not a religious fight

he just tried to use "blasphemy" as a way to smear him probably

that's why the law should be repealed, because it's being abused
Every law in Pakistan is almost misused this law is according to Quran and Sunnah only thing to do is improve its implementation

Exactly. Every law is not only misused n abused in pakistan but those who govern and implement them are criminals of the highest order, begining with the president and all the way down to the police sepahi that are corrupt, dishonest, n zaalim to the bones.

The problem is with vigilantism, people taking laws into their own hands n beating/killing/raping/torturing the 'suspect' or alledged offender. Because the masses subconsciously know all too well that filing n FIR at the police station wont solve any of their problems. Therefore they resort to carrying out punishments themselves.

Hence, nothing wrong with blasphemy or any laws, policing needs be honestly implemented n ppl need be educated not to be vigilante.
