Bkav, Vietnam releases Bphone through network operators in EU, India, Thailand & Indonesia

Bkav Corporation had negotiations with a variety of network operators from Thailand, India, Indonesia and a European network on the sideline of a global summit on Mobile Expanding and Computing held in Hong Kong to distribute Bphone to the markets of these countries.

According to information from VnReview reporter present in Hong Kong, although the event officially begins today on 15/9, earlier, on the sideline of the event was a dense schedule of meetings and negotiations between carriers. Among them, notably there were negotiations between Bkav Technology Coporation from Vietnam and some network operators from India, Indonesia, Thailand and Europe.

Through the reporter's observation, yesterday morning, 14th September, Bkav had a negotiation of more than 1 hour with the True Move network (Thailand). True Move is the mobile network owned by True Corp with the market share of 24.6%, equivalent to 26 million subscribers, including 900,000 subscribers of 4G. On the same day, Bkav also worked with network operators from India, Indonesia and Telenor, a big provider of mobile services in Europe who has large investments in mobile networks in the Asian market.

According to the agenda of the three-day summit, Bkav worked with senior leaders of American chipmaker Qualcomm, which is supplying microchips to the Vietnamese company, on the next generation of the Bphone, which is expected to be released in the first quarter of next year.

Andy Chu, director for Bkav Singapore and the Asian region, confirmed the information but declined to go into further detail, according to VnReview.

Mr. Hideki Ogura, General Manager of Japan electronics firm Toshiba introduces the Bphone, the worlds first phone to use Transfer Jet technology at the Qualcomm 3G/LTE Global Summit in Hong Kong.

TransferJet is a close-range wireless technology that helps users transfer data like music, high definition videos between mobile devices at very fast speed.

According to Toshiba, this technology can attain a speed of up to 375 Mbps in data transmission, enough to transfer a 20-second HD video file within one second.

According to Mr. Chu Anh Quan, Director of Bkav Singapore, during this year Expo, Bkav met various partners and the number of partners continued to increase. According to his estimate, over 20 partners were interested in this product and provided the contact information to promote Bphone to the international market.

According to Mr Quan, Bphone received a lot of enthusiastic attention, especially after Bkav had pointed out the strengths of Bphone such as beautiful design, being dedicated and sophisticated, good and smooth operating system, accompanied by many functions and applications built by Bkav. Mr. Quan said: "The partners appreciate this product and consider it as one of Android phones with the best experience, equivalent to the experience of Apple's iOS. Even Qualcomm also appreciates Bkav for the development of Bphone and positions it as a high-end product".

When being asked about the possibility of selling Bphone to foreign markets, Mr. Quan said, the network operators True Move in Thailand, Indosat in Indonesia, and Reliance in India all appreciated Bphone for good hardware, smart and powerful operating system, good user experience and reasonable price. These networks expressed clearly their interest and desire that Bkav quickly contacted them to have better understanding and to promote Bphone to the potential markets.

The representative of Bkav said the success at the Expo with the attendance of such a large number of partners will surely promote Bkav to manufacture and develop the product as Bphone 2 to suit the demand and potential of the international market.

Also at this conference, Toshiba will have a presentation on TransferJet technology through Bphone. Bphone is the first mobile phone in the world that has applied successfully this technology. TransferJet is a short-range wireless protocol developed by Sony and they have also created an organization of many different companies, including Toshiba. Toshiba is the most active company in the dissemination of this standard.

Earlier, Mr Eric Reifschneider, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Qualcomm Technologies Licensing said, "Qualcomm and Bkav share a strong commitment in promoting the development of the mobile industry in Vietnam. This agreement allows Bkav to develop, manufacture and sell 3G and 4G LTE high-end products, empowering the position of Bkav in the mobile industry, not only in the market of Vietnam but also in Southeast Asia".

the competion will be damn tough. too many players on the market, notably the koreans and chinese. all my best wishes sending to the company. good to see that we have a domestic company that wants to seize a share of the market, and our people have a choice, not only buying phones from foreigners. from my observation, seem the company is not too bad. new bphone coming out of assemby line.
