You are a zorastrian? Glad to talk to you as you are one of the oldest society in this world, and I never ever found any one from your community before.
I have an off topic question related to your culture if you don't mind me asking, I am just curious.
Do you really still use "tower of silence" for funeral?
If yes, then I am wondering if still there is a place in this world specially in cities where making such towers are possible!
I would really like to hear it from you. Thanks in advance and regards.
@padamchen
Yes we still use the Dokhmas (Towers if Silence) in big cities. Bombay, Karachi, Poona. I'm sure there are others. But these I definitely know of.
Smaller towns or in the west we use burial or solar concentrators.
Even in the Towers the option is given to the family.
Since birds of carrion (vultures) are fast dying out, even in the Towers the Khandyas (pall bearers, who are the only people allowed beyond the last gate) often tend to the corpses towards the end of the natural decay to separate the bones and direct them into the central ossuary.
Cheers, Doc
