The Congress party has always been a responsible party in matters of national security and even today with regards to any issue concerning national security, it has and will in future stand with the government. We commend the Indian Coast Guard for their valiant action on the intervening night of 31st Dec 2014.
However, as a responsible opposition it will be pertinent for us to ask questions to the government if there are counter views existing in public domain with regards to issues as important as this.
The BJP and especially its spokespersons are advised to stop taking credit and making PR events out of matters of national security.
Also, we would request BJP's spokespersons to refrain from branding everyone who asks a question in a democracy as "Pakistanis".
We would like to ask the government these questions, which are floating all around in public domain and the people of this country have a right to get a clear answer on these.
1) Whether the boat was laden with explosives or was the boat carrying narcotic items.
2) Was the boat manned by terrorists or was the boat manned by smugglers?
3) Whether the boat was blown as stated by the spokesperson of a particular party or the boat blew itself as stated by the press release of Ministry of Defence?
4) Whether they have been divergence of views between the government and its department as stated in media (RAW, IB and NTRO)?
5) Whether the boat was attempting to commit a 26/11 like incident or was it bringing in narcotics?
