Biryani: Hindu or Muslim ?

For wearing jeans?

I can understand since you are a conservative Muslim from Pakistan.

Or was it because you are a guy or the jeans pink?

I am just saying don't adopt the ummah. Adopt a Pakistani identity and don't shove cultural beliefs on others.

Form a Pakistani culture. Which is moderate.

So you can wear jeans just not pink. Specially when you have a moustache. That's just a pink line

I've had this line used on me for simply coming home late. And this phrase is if anything cultural tbh.

. . . . . .
You guys never talk about it. Doesn't seem like as popular of a dish as chelo kebab and ghormeh sabzi.
Yes of course, we've got better dishes than Bir-fucking-yani to eat thats why we never talk about it:lol: damn i hate biryani, tho many people love it.

Try dande-kebab one time and you'll never forget the taste :azn: lol

.
Might be a Punjabi thing. Not even. I've heard Urdu speakers use this phrase as well. Whatever though.

Dude I am kidding.

Lighten up.

Domestic abuse is culturally defined but you can't just control others.

Highly uncalled for reaction specially from a Brit to a Brit.

Andaaz e bayaan ka masla hai.

I don't believe Arabs or Afghans eat it. I don't think even Iranians eat this dish anymore. Let's get some Iranians on here and ask them. @Parsipride @skyshadow

Bryan is the name of an Iranian food whose originality is in the city of Isfahan in Iran. Bryani is referred to the place or shop where Bryan is cooked and sold. This food has been transferred to other countries throughout history, but its authenticity dates back to the Zoroastrian era and is very famous, which is well-known in Isfahan.

. .
We use it to.
It's just way of showing you displeasure. What I meant originally that we are a very socially conservative family. Not religious but conservative. There is a differance. That conservative attitudes we have are part of our psche and will evolve but slowly. The females in our family do not war head covering but do dress what might be called modest. The clothing can be and often is 'Western' but it is moderate. Something like you might see in conservative Turkish towns in inner Anatolia but the generation below 50 do not wear head covering. This is my nephew and sister. We are not some fundamentalits or what people here call "westoxified". Just keep religion in private space. And that is why I like Turkey.

Apparently Indians think they have invented it according to the video in the first post.

I did not say "your legs" so relax. And be on your way. I already said I stood by you but that does not mean I would accept my family members to behave like you. I have right to my personal views but they only are applicable to those near and dear to me. So move on okay. This is getting tedious. For the last time. You can wear what you like. However that does not mean I have to accept that in my family okay? My views only apply on those close to me. You can slap on a miniskirt and twerk yourself in public. Now do please excuse me.

I am having problems explaining the concept of secularist but being socially conservative. Conservatism is informed by weight of tradition howsoever informed and accepts change at a philosophical level but is not informed by ruled by dogma or strict religious scripture. It accepts change at a slow generational level. For instance I have no illusions that few generations or maybe even earlier my line might be acting or wearing what @Divergent does that does not mean I accept that now. It's acceptance of gradual change.

Of course I am against scripture being used as prescription and state being used to engorce dogmsa or ritual contours of religion. I get abused by the religious zealots regularly as "westoxified" as you perhaps know. I don't think they thought I would be arch-cultural conservative.

It’s a Biryani thread so why not leave it at that? Why quote a person and comment on their personal attire and imply had it been females in YOUR family you’d break their legs? I honestly don’t care what your opinion is but for starters it wasn’t needed and uncalled for.
