Agartala took place much earlier and the elections in 1970 was a clear indication that Mujbir had people support.

Conspiracy or not it really does not matter when clearly the people supported Mujibur and he was denied his rightful position. The case was was even withdrawn on popular sentiment, reaffirming that it was West Pakistan which played the games.
