Punjab police spin into action after Bilawal threatened by LeJ | PAKISTAN - geo.tv
LAHORE: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Thursday night said they were trying get to the bottom of ‘threatening Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) letter’ received by Pakistan People’s Party’s Patron-in-Chief, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
"I myself telephoned Bilawal’s chief of the staff, Hasham Shaikh, to convey him Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif’s message concerning LeJ letter”, said he.
The CM Punjab after taking the notice of the news aired by Geo News ordered the top cop of the province to spin into action.
An investigation had been set into motion in this regard, the IGP added.
Earlier, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said he had received ‘a threat letter’ from Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ).
In a message on the micro blogging site Twitter, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said he would hold Punjab government responsible in case of an attack.
The tweet read: “received threat letter frm LEJ.Will hold Punjab govt responsible 4 LEJ attacks if Sharif cont 2 give them protection & refuse2 take action.”
In another tweet he said: “Jo Taliban Ka yaar hai woh mulk ka gadaar hai!!” (anyone who is Taliban's friend is a traitor).
