What "current" features are you looking for in a bike of that size?

Looks which are good / stands out in crowd and all modern features which are offered in Chinese replicas.

Looks are subjective and in the eyes of the beholder, so no one can help you with that. :D

Motorcycle sales across the board are down. Apparently, the Baby-Boomers all have motorcycles, and Generation X is only buying a very few, and the next generation, the Millennials, aren’t buying any at all.

A recent study was conducted to find out why that is the case.

Here are the reasons why Millennials don't ride motorcycles, and why sales are down:

1. Their pants won't pull up far enough for them to straddle the seat.

2. They can't get their phone to their ear with a helmet on.

3. They can't use both hands to eat while driving.

4. They don't get a trophy and a recognition plaque just for buying one.

5. They don't have enough muscle to hold the bike up when stopped.

6. A bug might hit them in the face and then they would need emergency care.

7. Motorcycles don't have air conditioning.

8. They can't afford one because they spent 12 years in college trying to get a degree in Humanities, Social Studies or Gender Studies for which no jobs are available.

9. They are allergic to fresh air.

10. Their pajamas get caught on the exhaust pipes.

11. They might get their hands dirty checking the oil.

12. The handlebars have buttons and levers and cannot be controlled by touchscreen.

13. You have to shift manually and use something called a clutch.

14. It is too hard to take selfies while riding.

15. They don't come with training wheels like their bicycles did.

16. Motorcycles don't have power steering or power brakes.

17. Their nose ring interferes with the face shield.

18. They would have to use leg muscle to back up.

19. When they stop, a light breeze might blow exhaust in their face.

20. It could rain on them and expose them to non-soft acidic water.

21. It might scare their therapy dog, and then the dog would need therapy.

22. Their man-bun wont fit under a helmet.

Sooner or later, it is time to change a worn chain and sprockets.

Get all the tools and parts ready:

Chain Sprocket Change-002.jpg

Loosen the chain as much as possible and then straighten the locking tang (or lock washer on some bikes):

Loosen the lock nut:

Put on new sprocket and lock nut, tighten to specified torque and bend locking tangs:

Grind off the heads of the pins for one link:

Put on the chain tool and push the pins out:

The old chain is now broken:

Push one pin in from the end of the new chain to attach it to the old chain:

And pull the new chain through using the old chain, then remove the old chain:

Attach the second pin to complete the new chain:

Use the chain tool to press in the new plate:

Use the correct size pin to flare the ends of the two pins one by one:

The rear sprocket is easily done by removing the wheel, remocing the bolts hold the old sprocket and putting on the new one:

Doing fine, trying to ride as much as I can before the season closes in with bad weather. Just rode 460 miles this past weekend, much of it in steady rain. It was quite challenging in the twisty roads chosen, but fun nonetheless.

How are you doing?

Absolutely super bro.

I'm busy tanning my legs for the big one on the 29th (600 BRM for my Super Randonneur title).

That looks more like sunburn rather than a tan, but I am not a dermatologist (although I did stay at a Holiday Inn ..... :D ).

If you look closely there's a thin line on.the left thigh where the new shorts have ridden up a bit more than the normal. That's raw sunburn. The rest is now my natural colour.

Been thinking of a mountain ride later this winter. The Kingdom of Bhutan sounds nice.

Cheers, Doc
