What's new

Bihar: Two arrested for raping Japanese girl in Gaya

It is also the fault of foreign embassies too, they should've warn their citizens. @Nihonjin1051

Feel sorry for that poor women.

I'm so sad to hear this happen to a sister! It's unbelievable they could do this to a young lady --- for a Buddhist pilgrimage!!

The Indian guy who lured her, gained her trust because he spoke Japanese -- he deserves death. She trusted him.

I guess this is very alarming. I know that not all Indian men are like this, but Japanese women who travel to India alone should be wary of trusting strangers. Not everyone is good.

:astagh:

very frustrated society , and addition of internet has contributed to moral demise

Speechless -

I am sure our society has these issues as well

. .
The reason why it's more dangerous in India and why these rapes make the news is because the rapes happen in large crowds. It's not done behind closed doors. It's a large group of people gangraping some poor woman or little child while their friends cheer them on like a bunch of savages.

There's literally no safety to be found in India because you could be raped on a bus or in a crowd of people. Anywhere else on earth, there is a certain safety to be found in public. But not in India if you're a woman. Hence all the travel warnings.

Just google indian actresses and female leaders public harassment.

. .
The best way to address a situation like this is to reduce the racism in Indian society through better education and to mete out harsh punishments for the perpetrators rather than trying to ignore the situation...like we see with some of the Indians here.

Perhaps your country is not every different from India thereself

Rape is one of the most common crimes in China. Marital rape is not illegal in China. Same-gender rape is not illegal either, and remains widespread. In 2007, the U.S. Department of State reported 31,833 rapes (2.3 cases per 100,000 people) in China, but no similar report by the Chinese government was available.

Victims of rape in China often remain silent and do not report the crime because traditional culture holds that being raped is shameful and should be kept private.Popular activist Guo Jianmei told the story of a villager who raped over 100 women, and "Not one of them spoke up." In another incident, a girl and her mother tried to register a complaint against a rapist, but Zhong Xiancong, a police official, did not register it and suggested to the victim, "To protect your reputation, you should forget about the whole thing."

Rape is regarded as taboo in Chinese culture, and the victim is often rejected by society, as the culture views women as solely responsible for the rape. According to one American victim of rape in China, she felt that if she had tried to raise her voice against the rape she would be even prosecuted by the state.

Even one step head child rape is not even considered rape china

So, before giving lecture to other countries about morality first you should look into Evils of your own society.

I agree with you to some extent. Rape happens in every society. But going back to my point, people don't feel threatened when traveling to China alone. There aren't travel warnings for single women when they travel to China, the US, Canada, Japan, etc like there are for India. Because you can literally be plucked off the street and gangraped in public in India while everyone cheers the perpetrators on.

There's a reason why India is becoming synonymous with rape but if you're content with your nation being known as Rapeistan, far be it from me to dissuade you.

That's your Selective hatred towards a particular country
Any sane mind in India even on PDf will be cheerful about Rape.

Rape happens every where in world even in developed countries there are dark corners in every cities around the world
But your cynical thought of being cheerful about rape is concept of Indian society BS

Comparing Us & china to India is not logical thing there many reasons beside travelling to country than women crime .The Data shows that threat is same everywhere regarding women safety even In developed countries which better equipped and even better educated society but the treatment of women is same every where.

its not good to drag Pakistan in this thread , as so many India do ...rape happen in Pakistan , its a universal crime which should be stopped world wide ...but trust me when i say , public harassment in Pakistan will be much more worse anyone can imagine , we have terrorism issue , but if you harass a women in public, you will be beaten to death by public ..forget about raping someone ..
so India Govt should come up with better laws, and also the public should watch over any harassment in their neighborhood ..

I do applaud India for this: It seems when rapists are caught and convicted, they usually get pretty harsh sentences. If true, hat's a good start.

Indian men should wear the underwear equivalent of this
Sadly true.

Hum baaz nehin aa rahein hain. Something drastic needs to be done to set fear into the minds of such animals.
Fear because inspite of being born from a woman, they have no respect for her kind.

Ujjal Dosanjh was the first Indian-born Premier of a Canadian province. Ujjal Dosanjh wrote in a blog that rapes in India are due to the "sexual repression brought by Muslims and colonialism." He later apologized and retracted the quoted words. Nearly all the rapists and their victims are Hindus.

You should look at your country before lecturing us
Like Pakistan is so free of crime...

This is typical of you guys, instead of condemning this shameful act you are criticizing other countries.

Modi-ji will rectify the situation. India will be a superpower by 2020!
You are mistaken it wont be a superpower by 2020 it will be a super duper power!
