Isolated incident? or part of a larger trend?

Article here, excerpts below:

Afghanistan’s largest private airline has been forced to suspend operations after it failed to clear outstanding debt and taxes.

The Afghan civil aviation authority (ACAA) ordered Safi Airways on Sunday to pay 1.15 billion Afghani (Dh6.2 million) before it can regain permission to resume services and sell tickets.

The ACAA has said that it took the action against Safi Airways, one of the country’s major airlines, for failing to pay taxes amounting to 1.6 billion afghanis ($16.7 million).

India should pick up the tab here

you never know India might -- the $16 million outstanding
India should pick up the tab here

Well -- you know all Safi Airline owes is $16,000,000 -- which really is chump change -- and India could pocket the easily.

For example Air India could buy shares which would raise the much needed cash and Safi would be liquid again.

What I'm surprised at is that for $16,000,000 Safi suspended its operations.
