BD should give Chinese visa free access to BD. Plus, BD should develop direct flights to Cox's Bazar from Chinese destinations. This, along with a marketing drive, will do wonders for BD tourism.
China doesnt have sandy beaches if am not mistake unless they have any small islands somewhere. Most Chinese will enjoy coxs bazar if marketed and done up well.
I think the most appealing thing in Bangladesh for a Chinese tourist would be our ancient Bhuddist heritage.Bangladesh contain 3 out of 5 biggest ancient Bhuddist Vihara in the sub continent. And many other things(such as hair relic of Gautam Buddha, beautiful Pagodas in CHT).If properly advertised, these facts could be the occasion of many Chinese and East Asian travel. But before that, we have to fix our transport infrastructure. We can not ask a Chinese tourist to come in Bangladesh and get stuck in Dhaka's notorious traffic jam.. Most Chinese will enjoy coxs bazar if marketed and done up well. A special zone for foreigners, it’s a massive long beach am sure a specific zone can be made foreigners and some locals . Then it will be more appealing. I say where the hills are, that spot is untouched no one goes that part, all the locals are packed in one region of the beach, so build that part with hills for foreigners. I’m sure who knows CB will know what I’m referring too.

The Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry has decided to declare both sides of marine drive in Cox’s Bazar as preserved tourist zone, reports BSS.
The ministry has taken a plan to develop a special tourism area near Sundarbans with all modern amenities for attracting more both domestic and foreign tourists.
This was revealed on Tuesday day at a workshop titled “Conservation and Preservation of Heritage Sites and its Promotion as the Tourism Attractions” organised by Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) at CIRDAP auditorium in the capital.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest while Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Mohibul Haque spoke as the special guest.
Haque said the government is going to declare both sides of the 80 km long marine drive from Cox’s Bazar town to Teknaf as preserved tourism zone to check installation of all kinds of illegal structure there.
“This marine drive has already grabbed the attention of both domestic and foreign tourists. We have to preserve its natural beauty to promote these sites in front of large volume of tourists around the world,” he said.
The tourism secretary also said they are planning to build a special tourism area with five star hotel and all modern facilities near Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest of the world.
“We would like to develop the zone without hampering environment of the forest,” he said, adding that tourists would roam inside the forest with small boats and stay night at the zone.
The minister called upon all stakeholders to be sincere in conserving and preserving the rich heritage sites as those are valuable tourism products of the country.
BTB’s Acting CEO Nikhil Ranjan Ray presided over the workshop while Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC) Chairman Akhtaruzzaman Khan Kabir spoke as the special guest.
Professor of Archaeology Department of Jahangirnagar University Dr AKM Shahnawaz presented the keynote paper at the workshop attended by tour operators, travel agents and owners of hotels and motels.

I admit Sundarbans wilderness and virginity is nice to have and must be preserved at all cost, but to develop them into tourist destination is kinda... You know not much people willing to spent money to roaming swampy, mangrove forest invested by tigers and 2 tonnes saltwater crocodile, not to mention six meter long reticulated phyton along with heavy rainfall in monsoon season is like hell. Only adrenalin junkies, wildlife freaks is willing to do that and their number is not great at all. You know, Indonesia got virgin heavy rainforest in Borneo, Sulawesi and Papua too, and we are trying to promote them as tourist destination several years back to no avail.
Cultural and heritage tourist is much easier to developt along with Natural sandy beaches, for developing countries is much easier to find investor to developt them.
No offence but Indonesia has nothing like the Sundarbans that has the magnificent Bengal tiger and 20ft man-eating crocodiles.
Tourists will be safe in their boats and plenty will pay big money like they do on African Safaris.
You know how big Bangladesh it is? And how big Indonesia it is? Indonesia at least a dozen times much wider and with population only half more than Bangladesh, naturally we got much Natural and virgin heavy rainforest along with millions acres untouched mangrove forest as Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world. No kidding, naturally we got more to offer than what Sundarbans cant, but in reality and cost development its much easier to developt Bali, Jogjakarta along with Komodo National park and Raja Ampat compared with National Park in East Kalimantan or Jambi province.
You just dont throw away money to sinkhole bottom without much result.

Like I say Indonesia has neither Bengal Tiger or 20ft man eating crocodiles. BD also has river dolphins dude.
Being bigger does not mean better.
We shall whether a large number of tourists can be attracted.
Dont made me to mention what Nature wonder Indonesia (including flora and fauna) had and Bangladesh dont, you will get owned easily and badly. Never mention, why i give such suggestion is because we are doing a much better job in attracting foreign tourist compared to Bd. Thats why this notion on to developt Sundarbans as tourist destination is kinda off remark, as it will be costly and it will be much easier to developing Sandy beaches area and cultural heritage tourism and will give more benefit toward population because Cultural and heritage attraction is usually near people settlements or in City or villages.
Indonesia is one of the top bio diversity hotspots in the world, With it's own Tigers in Sumatra.. Maybe second only to the Amazon, But try explaining that to a ignoramous
If people want to see the Tiger they will go to India or Nepal, Why the feck would someone want to go see it in a bloody swamp ??
On the subject though Indonesia need to do way more to protect it's natural resources, Palm oil and timber industries are devastating it's fauna and flora, It'll be a monumental crime if it keeps happening at the rate it is, The World had already lost so many wonders including the Javan Rhino and Tiger
Well, the encroachment of palm oil plantation is being halted by recent moratorium on palm oil expansion.
Well, you just cant invite foreign tourist to rowing on small boats in heavily infested river or estuary by this kind of saltwater crocodile in swampy region. Notes, pic taken near settlements in Kutai (East Kalimantan).
