Bifurcation of afghani and pakistani pakhtuns

Hindi. Hyderabadi urdu.

Barya? In Punjabi we say vadiyaa for the word zabardast in Urdu. :D

You sound like an Indian NooB If you say barya. Like really, you sound like a modian/saffroni If you used this word in Urdu or English.

How do you say zabardast in Pashto?

Asalamu Alaikum

Lol well this thread didn't start with subtlety.

They really, REALLY hate Punjabis that's for sure.

I'm not gonna lie that's pretty touching.
Walaikum salam and yes there isn't any subtelty i can even give one more concrete example from our recent history

I wouldn't go so far as to say they don't have any powerful dynasties, they do. The only problem is their favourite one (Durrani Empire) was founded by a guy born in Multan.

. .
Would you kindly elaborate

Sure

You said they have nothing to be proud of, I disagree. They have the Hotaki and Durrani Empires, among others.

I do however think it's a little comical how the founder of the Durrani Empire (Ahmed Shah Abdali), was born in Multan.

U didn't get my point. First of all let me tell you that afghanistan was found before 150 years as a consequence of durrand line and by that time current pak. pakhuns were already settled in N.W.F.P of that time as pashtuns have history of more than 1000 years so how can they claim that pakistani(and all other) pashtuns are actually afghanistani when the age of aghanistan is 10 times less than history/age of pathans. And my point of proud was also meant to be for the time period after the formation of afghanistan.

Hey PDF members, i have opened this thread to discuss the differences between Pakistani Pashtuns and Afghani Pashtuns. I know that according to durrand line agreement between British government and Afghan ruler of that time, Abdul rehman khan pashtuns got divided on eastern side and western side of durrand line
Prepare a list of similarities between Afghanistani and Pakistani Pashtuns. Give it a try. If you come up with four differences between 'lar o bar' Pakhtana , the 'Afghanistani' will come up with 14 or 140 similarities. If you try to use history to point out differences, they are also going to use history to point out similarities.

but still paksitani pashtuns tribes like yousafzais, bangash, hoti, khattak tanoli, swati, afridi, kakar, taraqai, parachgaan, durrani, jahagiri and many more are different than afghani pashtuns
Tanoli, Swati and Parachgan are not Pashtuns. Kakars are also found in Afghanistan. Durrani have more to do with Afghanistan than Pakistan. You are failing from the get go.

but afghanis didn't do any such thing infact they are nomadic people and have nothing to be proud of.
Some of the tribes mentioned by you arrived in present-day KP because of the same nomadic life style you are ascribing to 'Afghanistanis'. In fact most of hill tribes of Pashtuns in present-day Pakistan had nomadic life style like Ghilzais not long ago. For example in 1867 Waziri tribes of Waziristan are described to have a life style like Pawandahs/Kuchis, moving to plains in winter and to hills in summer.

What do you mean by ' nothing to be proud of' ? . Are you saying that the settlements in blessed and sacred land of KP set apart them from 'Afghanistanis'?. Did Yousafzais grow two horns and a tail when settled in Peshawar valley?

Furthuremore in 1947 pakistani pashtuns fully supported the cause of pakistan and fought kashmir war whereas afghanis were claiming the N.W.F.P and balochistan region.
The same ' wild' hill tribes of Waziristan had earlier gone to Afghanistan in 1929 to help Nadir Khan against Bacha-i-Saqao, playing the same mercenary role that they played later in Kashmir.

So i'll ask my pdf members espacially pakhtun to provide input and put some more light in this matter. My sincerest appeal espacially to indian members is to be objective and realistic if guys have to troll then kindly avoid posting your comment over here.

Thank you so much and looking forward for your reply.
You are trying to come up with some sort of ' two nation theory', that Lar and Bar Pashtuns are different breeds with different histories. Thats not going to work because your Afghanistani opponents will give you a long list of similarities between lar o bar Pakhtana and will give you details of shared and common history. The only way an Afghanistani Pashtun might be turned off and give up on Lar Pashtuns, if you convince Pakistani Pashtuns to give up on their Pashto language and culture and adopt Punjabi language and culture. If you convince Pakistani Pashtuns to start wearing dhoti and marry Punjabis on such a mass scale that they become indistinguishable from Punjabis in looks and traits .............then Afghanistani Pashtuns will have no appetite for unity with their Punjabized population on other side of Durand. :D:D:D

@Sarah Ahmadzai

Afghans and Punjabis of Kasur Lahore area are very similar. Both like to rape children and do drugs. Another similarity is that they both like to lift Indian nuts. Karzai and Ashraf Ghani share more in common with Nawaz shareef than with a painda eating goat herder like you.

Who told you we have appetite for unity with gandos of Afghanistan

Instead they are living here on Pakistani sides for decades as refugees, and that too, deep up to areas of Punjab and interior Sindh, and don't appetite to go back into Afghanistan. Here comes a Mian baboon declaring no appetite for unity!

BC what you say at least do it. Get the **** out of Pakistan and spit on unity as you are saying earlier.

If you are not a Pashtun, do not discuss matters relating to Pashtuns in such a light vein. Its just a bad idea to discuss other ethnicities unless you are a scholar.

I am not claiming to be any scholar secondly, i belong from Baffa, Mansehra(formerly known as pakhali sarkal esp. in gandhara civilization) in K.P.K. I live in Islamabad and am brought up in a pashtun environment/culture. Ethnically our tribe is persian not afghan but there are so many parachas settled in kpk so i quoted them in that context and can't say anything about tanolis though according to history they have come from present afghanistan. The reason i have opened this discussion is because of hatred of afghanis and their views that pakistan is punjabi dominant or controlled area. Although this doesn't matter but when they become ally with india and allow them use their soil against pakistan and as a consequence paktuns of pakistan suffer examples are attack of APS and university of charsada then we have problem. Now the point that i am saying over here is that paktun tribes of pakistan and paktun tribes of afghanistan have become quite different gradually with the passage of time. Although they have same history but that was a long time ago and when afghanistan was formed before 150 years all were already settled in both sides of durrand line. Pakistani pashtuns have their culture and it is very robust which gives beauty to diversity of pakistan and should not be at any cost left. But aghanis should understand that pakisatni pashtuns are unit of pakistan which can never be separated.
