Bhoja Air Flight crashes on final approach to Islamabad Airport.

.
explosion?? anyone suspecting foul play ??

Last contact wit the plane was at 1740 and the plane crash reported at 1840...No contact in between..
if it was a bomb explosion, the plane had crashed immediately..
But here it looks like it was a fire on board which went out of control and the Pilots may have been struggling to reach Islamabad airport, but exploded 13 kilometers before the airport.

. . . .
Eye witnesses saying the wings were on fire, so a fire n engines coupled with downwinds.

The aircraft is 30 odd years old, might not have had functioning cooling systems.

.
I doubt it. The plane was on the designated flight path.

A met official on TV saying that sudden winds and cumulonimbus clouds did take over the area around 6:20/25

Cumulonimbus are treacherous....They have an internal weather system and fast rising and falling air currents...combined with lightening.

. .
Lightning does not effect most of the aircraft of now days.
What happens when lightning strikes an airplane?: Scientific American

So exclude this factor from the list.
Because only a dumb like Dr. REHMAN MALIK can think of these type of factors.

The last confirmed commercial plane crash in the U.S. directly attributed to lightning occurred in 1967, when lightning caused a catastrophic fuel tank explosion. Since then, much has been learned about how lightning can affect airplanes. As a result, protection techniques have improved. Today, airplanes receive a rigorous set of lightning certification tests to verify the safety of their designs.

So this is not state of the art.. and susceptible to such fallacies as lighting sparking off fuel.

A cumulonimbus is the last thing a pilot wants to see while flying.

The procedure is to avoid it by at least 20 km. But low cost airlines sometimes take the risk to reduce fuel costs.

And these clouds were present there 6:15 onwards.

Knew the Captain personally, was my father's course mate in PAF. A very humble and intelligent man. May Allah extend his mercy to him and all the passengers who were on board.

See, in Pakistan, we don't immediately start pointing fingers and blaming others. ;)

Although the indications are against any foul play but obviously the CAA will also look into this possibility...

the ambulances are bogged down in the mud..because the area is agricultural fields and there was torrential rains few hours earlier.

.
yeah, no secret there.

The army heli black boxes also go abroad.

I assume, these aircrafts obviously Boeing is made by US. They have the responsible to check investigation, what will Pakistan authorities can do to proof the cause of the incident? Probably ask US for recording, however in the past we haven't solve the problems. The cases was closed quickly.

This aircraft was pretty old, in terms of aviation.

Some people saying that the aircraft did have some issues, but was airworthy.
