The Charanka Solar Park, at 214 MW the largest in the world, was commissioned on April 19, 2012, along with a total of 605 MW in Gujarat, representing 2/3 of India's installed photovoltaics. Large solar parks have also been announced in the state of Rajasthan. The 40 MW Dhirubhai Ambani Solar Park was commissioned on March 31, 2012.

Its not investment but money given on credit that has to be paid back with interest you moron. And this money was given to BAL dalals to buy indian goods for corridor facility which is proving to be unfeasible and most of the money wasn't even paid to the Awami dalals. But even if the whole master-slave deal goes to waste we still have to pay back that retarded loan with interest. So stop bull$hitting about investment idiot. KSA, S.korea, China and Japan is our largest investors while UK is our largest aid donor with over $1.5 bn of aid/year. Your dirt poor terrorist country doesn't even make it to the top 10. Pakistan shall discourage oil/gas/coal power plants, it eats out large chunk of forex.

BTW... Do you know govt. is blocking oil and payments of high efficiency IPPs and supplying oil and making payments to low efficiency IPPs.

I was also told by a Pakistani investor, who wanted to build a solar power system, but after lot of blockades... he was conveyed the message... to invest some where else other than producing electricity.

Go visit any industry and ask them how the operate their Gensets, and you will know the truth behind this Indian drive.

The self-dependency doesn't occurs in few years. Its a process which needs development in multiple level.

India has lot to offer and is progressing in alternative sources of energy. China is a role model for us especially in Solar energy generation.

Chinese power generation companies do not have the best reputation in the subcontinents. BHEL is posing a great threat to the chinese companies in technology and pricing as well. For the last few years BHEL has learned a lot about the governing systems from the chinese power gencos and now adapting the similar techs in their own projects. BHEL made plants also have a better plf than others. So leave the blind hatred aside dear. Its not going to help you by any means.

Does this means we shall award contracts to bharti contractors?
