I didnt see Indian govt lodging a protest with USA when Koran was being burnt there..

It was an individual act, not done by the Govt or courts. Anyways there are around 50 countries who could have lodged protest if they cared.

Why would Indian state engage Russia on this.. ??

Because when MMS can discuss the discrimination of Buddhist monks to Burmese junta, discuss the turban ban to Nicholas Sarkozy, then Indian state can discuss Gita issue with Russia as well.

Let's face it; governments come and go. But the birthplace of Dharmic paths of life is still India. That can never change.

I'm taking about the land of origin.

Indian culture is influenced by Shrimad Gita just like Koran has influenced the Arabic culture. India should always stand for the rights of Hindus,Sikhs,Buddists & Jains worldwide because it is their spiritual homeland just like Mecca is the spiritual homeland of Muslims.

You are right & wrong.

They have the level if significance according to the Indian constitution..but culturally ...nope.

Indian culture by and large is rooted in Hinduism...it was influenced to some degree by other religions over the centuries..but still the roots are in Hinduism and Dharmic values.
