What's new

BGB blocks BSF from fencing border.

Few Questions
1. Why BD is not fencing the border?
2. Why India is fencing the border with her money while BD is not contributing?
3. Is trespassing only a problem of India but not of BD?

16 body bags story is the Indian version of the 2001 border clash. BD also accepted it. But, the actual death figure was 97 IA plus BSF troops killed in the Boroibari clash.

By military rule, a wounded or dead soldier must be taken away by the living troops. This is the rule for any military. Most bodies were carried away by the IA troops. Only 16 bodies could not be carried away that remained left on our soil.
You believe that if IA retaliated with full force can BGB or BD Army withstand? You are no Pakistan.

Mr. Radcliff never had came to India before, neither he has any idea about the locality. On what basis he draw the lines its a total Mistry.

1. Khulna - It has a continuous landmass with that of 24 PGS. My family has donated the land for Hijli sariff (costal Midnapore) and my ancestors used to trade with people in Khulna.
2. Murshidabad - It has also a slight majority 56% for Muslims, just 6% more, not a thumping majority like Bogra.
3, Malda - It has also a slight majority 56% for Muslims, just 6% more. The district was bifurcated on religious lines.
4. Nadia - The district was bifurcated on religious lines, Hindu majority Krishnanagar, Nabadwip, Ranaghat went to India. Mind Krishnanagar, Nabadwip is the Mecca Medina of Vaishnavas.
5. Calcutta - Its surrounded by Howrah, Hoogly, 24 Pgs which has 19%, 15% and 33% Muslims. It was surrounded by districts with thumping Hindu Majority.
6. Chittagong - Was ruled by Tripura for long starting from 15th century. See the geography, again it is continuous with Tripura. Read the writings of RN Tagore. He considered Chittagong as extension of Tripura.
Even if we accept the logic of bifurcation of districts on religious majority areas, still many contiguous Muslim majority Thana (which was the unit of partition) of those districts ended up in West Bengal involving several thousands of square kilometers of area. In Nadia district, which was 61% Muslim majority, only one-third area(Kushtia subdivision) was given to East Bengal, while Muslim majority and contiguous Karimpur, Tehatta and other Muslim majority thana in addition of Hindu majority Ranaghat, Krishnanagar were given to West Bengal.

Muslim majority and contiguous Bongaon sub division was cut-off from Muslim majority Jessore and given to West Bengal.

In 24 Parganas district(Hindu majority), Basirhat and Barasat sub divisions were Muslim majority and contiguous to East Bengal but were not given to it. Barasat being very close to Calcutta was probably the reason why Mr. Radcliffe did not bifurcate the 24 Pargana district unlike nearby Muslim majority districts of Nadia and Jessore. If East Bengal were to get the Muslim majority thanas of 24 Parganas district then it's border would have touched Calcutta and on that ground Calcutta could have been claimed as part of East Bengal as logic says the larger part of the division (East Bengal) should get the capital or at least receive 2/3rd of the city.

So to keep East Bengal's border away as far as possible from Calcutta and it's river system, Mr. Radcliffe bifurcated Muslim majority districts and given a lot of Muslim majority areas to West Bengal in addition of Hindu areas in those districts but did not bifurcate Hindu Majority district(24 Parganas) which contained sizable Muslim majority areas and were contiguous with East Bengal. So what should we conclude? Mr. Radcliffe favored West over East or not?

Why should IA retaliate in a conflict involving BSF and BGB? So, you are tacitly accepting the fact that BSF on it's own can not fight and win over BGB?

If Indian army fights the war of BSF, then it should at least pick it's equivalent rank. What if a similar BSF-BGB story also repeats in case with IA and BA?

Have you read the original post by your fellow BD. He is claiming around 100 IA died.
. But, the actual death figure was 97 IA plus BSF troops killed in the Boroibari clash.
again you haven't read my post. I mentioned BA Army.

As i have cleared your question can you answer
You believe that if IA retaliated with full force can BGB or BD Army withstand?

We never know until an actual battle happens between Indian and Bangladesh army.

There are plenty of examples where supposed underdog prevailed against the favorite by showing valor, courage and initiative.

You may not know, in 1965 Indo-Pak war, East Bengal Regiment(recruited among Bengalis of East Pakistan) got the highest number of gallantry awards among all Pakistani Regiments for their heroic and successful defence of Lahore against Indian onslaught. The legendary pilot from Bangladesh, Saiful Azam showed exceptional skill at dog fight and shooting down Indian fighter jets in that war. When people fight for a noble cause like defending their motherland from a vicious enemy, anything could happen. Number of weapons is only part of the story, not whole story.

So, we have to see an actual war to see where Bangladesh army stands against Indian army. I think, Bangladesh army has fairly a good chance to withstand Indian army in a defensive battle provided that India does not or can not divert it's armed forces from Pakistan and China border deployed in the Western part of India. Bangladesh army and Indian Army Eastern Command are more or less comparable in manpower and equipment. But Indian Eastern Air command have overwhelming superiority in Fighter Jets and Missiles. But Fighter Jets and Missiles are often not decisive in a war which can be seen in recent Russia-Ukraine conflict. Bangladesh has a fairly good chance of withstanding Indian attack provided that bulk of Indian forces remain at Westen sectors and Bangladesh manage to get some foreign military assistance.

You are forgetting Eastern command does look after China border.
Still You believe BD Army and Indian Army has same equipment's. What make you think so. I can go on with at least 10 platforms which are not available with BD.

Finally you accepted BD can't withstand a full-fledged Indian attack.

No, IA troops cannot practically surround BD and attack. In that case, India will have to move away many Lakhs of its troops from its western front.

Pakistan troops will be smiling at that and will attack India's north-western front (read Kashmir), No wonder, India eagerly seeks the friendship of BD.

BD is not an enemy, so, IA can keep most of its troop power in its west in the present situation.

We lost out big time in 1947 but ultimately unlike Punjabi and Haryanvi Muslims in greater East Punjab, west Bengali Muslim population was able to recover, albeit most of its intelligentsia has migrated to Bangladesh.

Excellent map. I will save this.

This map is an eye opener about how much Muslim majority areas were denied to East Bengal in 1947. The sad reality is, Muslims living in those areas are now being branded as illegal Bangladeshi migrants and sanghi extremists are threatening them to expel in Bangladesh.
