By distancing herself from USA...Pakistan has attracted much attention from other countries and apparently made new friends..Russia spoke for Pakistan for the first time..China openly spoke...and many more will like Pakistan if Pakistan continues current attitude with the right type of diplomacy..
Diplomacy will be important though.

Mr. Almeida misses the fundamental point: after the fall of the Soviet Union, there is a new Great Game afoot. Pakistan is but a bit player in the bigger game between the West, China, and Russia.

Unless Pakistan completely abandons its nuclear capability and China, it will remain 'the enemy' for the West and will be targeted as such, no matter what it does or doesn't do. Terrorism is just the current excuse to target Pakistan. If it's not one thing, it will be another.

Dude...international diplomacy is not simple as it seems to be ....Remember...no one is a permanent friend not permanent enemey here....all are based on situation....If situation demands...I can see...India can became a friend of Pakistan...becaoz...neighour can not be changed...If in a environment where China/Pak/BD/Srilanka/Burma..all of the neighours are anti american...there i fear India should allign its foreign policy properly...

I do not see any of these countries except may be china to be anti american when people in these countries are swooning in droves to be a citizen of USA. Pakistan is a bit of hypocritical case that i cannot explain , opened a thread about it earlier

There are no allies/friends in the international arena, only mutual interests (or lack of them). Even Afghanistan might not side with India in case there is a war between Pakistan-India, because Pakistan can nuke each & every inch of Afghanistan back to the Stone Age, as well as block all its everyday basic necessity supplies (food etc). And with the shift in the regional dynamics, we can expect to see greater cooperation between Russia Pakistan at the expense of the US. Nations live for the moment, not for the past, & that applies to Russia & Pakistan as well.

The ground reality is that since ISI and security forces started stalking CIA in Pakistan including the US embassy staff..The incidents of terrorist bombings have literally stopped..Now we can all decide who was supporting terrorism.
So will Pakistan benefit from breaking relations with US...I think yes.
