Janta has decided over and over they don't want Mullahtic Sharia.

This is why Pakistanis have never voted Mullahs to be majority in the city called "Islam-Abad".

90% or more of the janta consults Islamic Scholars in Pakistan

For me - Usually 'reason' !

But then what is reasonable & unreasonable or acceptable & unacceptable for me may not be so for you - Hence why man created the notion of 'democracy' - Let the most head's decide !

I foresee this talk of Shariah in the same context as English Civil Law - Both are legal paradigms; if there is nothing wrong with a Turk sitting in the US saying that he thinks that the US should adopt the Swiss Civil Code or the English Civil Law or the Turkish rendition of the Swiss Civil Code or the French Civil Law or the US Law....I don't see whats wrong with someone saying 'I think the following provision of Islamic Jurisprudence is meritorious & I think we ought to include it within our Common Law - Lets put it up for a vote' !

What I would find unreasonable is for the State for saying - No...you can't; even if you're able to convince the voters, their representatives or the courts - You still can't do it !

Thats why I say - Pluralism instead of Secularism !

So some of these islamic scholars get impatient and use street violance like other 2-bit politician.

Of course Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) can order us (muslims). Have you not heard about the time when he said that even Fatima would lose her hand if she were found guilty of theft.

I promise you that in every ultra-conservative jurisdiction on the planet, no matter what flavor of religion it uses as a vehicle, the people at the top of the food chain do not practice what they preach.

The world is moving forward with a few exceptions. I haven't interacted with a single Pakistani here that seems anxious for a religious crackdown, even the obviously very religious members. It is a sign of insecurity and weakness in your faith if you feel the need to force it on people who do not agree with your interpretation of your Holy text.

Sharia system was not a new invention in 760 AD.

It was just a combination of cultural and rulers' practices from 8th century beduin society.

This is why it collapsed within few decades even during the time of Khalifa Rashidoon.

Assassinations, drive by killings, and internal squabbling between sahabs was as common as it is among US gangs.

Off course many of us are raised with romantic notion about Sharia

So we continue repeating the stories over and over and over

He is insulting Sahaba Kiraam. RasoolAllah salat wa salam alaih said " "Do not abuse my Companions, for if any of you were to spend gold equal to (mountain of) Uhud in charity, it would not equal a handful of one of them or even half of that" [ Bukhari Sharif, Muslim Sharif]

This is a Sahih Hadith Sharif

Neither does he back-up any of his wild claims. The post is nothing but maligning the faith of Pakistani Muslims.no matter of what group.

In Pakistan, it is only Javed Ghamdi and his followers who talk like this in public.

No dear .... You are absolutely wrong here .. don`t try to twist the meanings of clear quranic verses ... And it has been made clear in other quranic verses too that the duty of Muhammad (pbuh) is ONLY to deliver the message , rest is upon Allah .. for example , we read in Quran , ch13 v 40 :
"upon you is only the [duty of] notification, and upon Us is the account."
