Best type of Mangoes

. .
Actually we can twist it around if you guys want.

If Pakistani mangoes are indian then both Pakistani and Indian mangoes are/was british?

Does that make any sense at all?

I dont think so ;)

@Roybot 1stly tell me what did YOU understand from what I wrote...

You are saying since its a chance seedling, and since identifying the "parents" of chance seedling is difficult, so I can not claim that Langra mango originated in India. This is what you are trying to say right?

Well I don't care about the parents of the chance seedling. The chance seedling itself was found in Banaras, India. And that chance seedling became a cultivar(Langra). I hope am clear now.

Anyways, this should put end to this debate,

Oooo rookie mistake. Read the full sentence, "It has originated as a superior chance seedling near Benares."

I hope you know where Banaras is! I am from Banaras too. Everything from Banaras is superior:lol:

i solve the riddle for you my dear

This variety of mango was made popular by Sher Shah Suri throughout the subcontinent. While commemorating his victory over Humayun at Chusa, he gave his favorite mango the name chaunsa.

:: Delicious Mangoes ::

origin: Origin: Rahim Yar Khan and Multan districts of Punjab in Pakistan.

all mangoes originated from south asia not brazil etc

Mangoes have been cultivated in South Asia for thousands of years[11] and reached East Asia between the fifth and fourth centuries BC. By the 10th century AD, cultivation had begun in East Africa.[11] The 14th century Moroccan traveler, Ibn Battuta, reported it at Mogadishu.[12] Cultivation came later to Brazil, the West Indies and Mexico, where an appropriate climate allows its growth
