There is no such thing as Pakistani Mango. All the Pakistani mangoes (atleast the good varieties) were taken from gangetic planes of India and planted in Pakistan.

chaunsa is a punjabi or seraiki word for sucker or finger licking, and not name of any place, read the first post of OP

laawwwwl its not my problem if you have punjabified it into meaning something else.

SAMMAR BAHISHT CHAUSA

It is originated as choicest seedling in a village Chausa in Malihabad, Tehsil of Lucknow. It is also known as “Kajri” or “Khajri”.

Malihabad is known for its mangoes!

A major chunk of rice exports goes to Iran as people there are fond of rice, especially Pakistan’s super basmati that is highly demanded for its taste, aroma and length.

@Roybot read this

The Chausa or Chaunsa mango of Pakistan is probably one of the worlds’ top two or three varieties available. It is an exceptionally sweet mango with a wonderful fragrance and delicious soft, succulent flesh with only the minimum of fibre. Externally, as with many Asian mangoes, it is not a fruit of beauty, usually being of a pale, matt yellow appearance, but one inside the thin peel it is a delight. In Urdu the name Chausa means ‘sucker’, so named because the mango is so delicious that not a fragment can be left.

Ripening: The Chausa is ripe when the tenderness of the flesh can be felt through the thin peel; the flesh is becoming quite soft and the peel colour is becoming a slightly deeper pale yellow. There may also be some slight wrinkling of the peel, which is not of concern.

Origin: Rahim Yar Khan and Multan districts of Punjab in Pakistan.

Grown in: Pakistan

@Pboy we could have a test too....cut a bunch of mangoes and feed people and ask them to scale it...the food lab at my institute does that for apples...based on consumer taste and preferences

But that test will be based on just a few peoples opinion.

It may change from time to time.
