who do u think r the best fighters of all time , my list is as follow.

2 meshasmith


3 spit fire

4 mig 21

5 f-15

6 harrier jump jet

7 mirage

8 saber

9 f104 star fighter

10 su-30

I got some help from discovery documentry THE BEST EVER. Pardon me if the spell of some names r ot correct. Consider the era of the plane and the teck of its. Its just based on personel liking. Any one can hav a different say. looking for u r posts

I don't know if its possible to compare a Messerschmidt BF-109E classic fighter to a 4.5 generation Sukhoi Su-30.
All these fighters served well in their era and were considered best of the best.

Believe it or not i will vote for F-16. It has become one of the best fighter which have served throughout the world with effectiveness and less crash rates. Russian counter parts like Mig-29, Mig-21s have done horrible compare to F-16.

F-16 is still in service and will continue to be in service par 2010. It was entered in 1978, now you know how well it is served, not to mention it is the common effective fighter out there, now with better avionics and engine F-16s can be well served with the future fighters like Rafale and Eurofighter.

Spit fire and Mustang both were most fearful fighters during the world war 2. Had a good track record and kill ratio.

I'll vote for the F-15. It entered service in 1976 to become the most superior fighter and even today, it is still the most superior Fighter out there with the exception of the F-22. NO F-15 has ever been lost in battle.!!! How many jets can claim that? NONE !:thumbsup:

F-16 have the same case. They destoryed almost 100 fighter without losing any of their own.

F-14 Tomcat revolutionised the aerodynamics way befor the F-15 or the Mig-29.
Its one of the greatest fighters ever built.
Now the USN is retiring the fleet, Iran will be the only country to fly them.

Tomcat was handy for long range (BVR) and carrier operations but is not even medium when a2a. Top Gun made the PR but the real product is not that good.

If you want me skip Sptfire and Mustang, the 2 known WW2 fighters, then i would definitely go for F-16, best of the best. How many countries are still willing to have that jet .

I will vote for F-16. some body quoted it's price to be around 18 million $. it was produced in 1960s. has the best of the best capabilities. And on top of that, the sky jump.

YAR f-16 is just like F-15 on the smaller scale, it was built as the low cost derivative of F-15, with some groundsupporting capabilities.It was the same thing as that of JSF . THE names portrays the whole story STRIKING EAGLE & FIGHTING FALACON. It was made as the little brother of F-15. I am of the old school & believes in the fact that BIGGER IS BETTER . they r techinically same.

And for MIG21 I think it is one of the greatest palne of all time. it is the most produced, most exported, most used plane in the post war era. look at the number of them flying in the air,and counties flying it. it is one of the toughest plane. It can take of fromm SERBIA with 2 metre of snow on it & can also bear the assult that RAGHISTAN has to offer . look at the derivatives of the plane, F-7 A-5 even some people say thunder. U can ask any RUSSIAN which is their best plane , they will say THE FISHBED. IT shows the russian engineering at its top best. it paved the path for oyher planes like latter versions of mig.
