The Western nations say that Eastern products are not as good as theres yet for some reason they have more aircraft crashes then any Eastern nation I can think of more then China even

.
Wow ... was that some sort of testing or accident?
Any way, seems like pilot did a good job.

.
Plane is intact so pilot did good job. The question is why is he off the runway?

@ haider,.................It would be great if u can give more details about this unfortunate incident.

.
On 6 August 2009, a Gripen from F 17 Kallinge belly-landed after a routine mission and skidded off the runway. A minor fire broke out, but it was soon put out by the airbase fire brigade. The cause is believed to be pilot error. The pilot escaped unharmed, and could walk away from the aircraft. SHK will investigate the incident.

This pilot is one luck SOB :)

First he survives belly landing and then the fire.

The pilot saved the plane though; thats commendable...

Do you suppose that could possibly be because air forces in Western nations (notably withing NATO) fly their jet moreoften and/or more intensely than (most) air forces of Eastern Nations? Not to mention flying combat missions.

Please correct me if I am wrong but Pakistan, India, China, Singapor, Indonesia, Taiwan etc, and then there are Middle Eastern nations Saudi Arab, Egypt, Jordan and even includ Isreal give less flying hr to there pilots then the West. Not to mention Pakistan, India, Iran, Taiwan, China, and Isreal are on stand by for war almost 365 days a year. Personally I have to disagree with you on this sir

This confirms what I suggested?

Anyway, the point was that you cannot derived conclusions about the quality of aircraft from the number of incidents/accidents alone. You need to correlate their occurrance with important causal factors such as the amount of maintenance, the number of flight hours etc.
