Bell To Develop Weapon Systems For Pakistani Attack Helicopters

These viper are really a sexy one and lethal too ... With hell fire missiles they can be crown jewel of Pakistan Army Aviations.

.
Very expensive deal , for 15 helicopters more expensive then our JF17 Thunder R & D

. .
Outstanding, these helicopters are going to increase our capabilities immensely.

Should read before hitting the keyboard. The deal includes 1000 Hellfire Block-II missiles, support, services, training and spare parts.

So what happens when the odd 1000 missiles run out , do we have a backup plan to make local versions of missiles ? replacements

200-300 Missiles will be used in first 2-3 months of war on terror

I just see shortages of missiles of this helicopters in long run

If we had gotten 50 Helicopters , and 5,000-7,000 Missles would have been idea for long term prespective

.
my only concern is about engines, only 2 spares? but include more engines coz i seriously don't trust Americans.
So hat will make 2016 as Heli Year on PDF :guns:

It is a good deal for Pakistan though I think we are a bit late in signing this deal, but better late than never. These helicopters will add to our anti-tank arsenal.

1 question though who will operate them PAF or Army Aviation?

Pakistan will probably buy more, and the number seems okay for now. I don't think they'll run out as quickly as you think, but that's just me guessing.

The US Department of Defense today has awarded a US $85 million contract to Bell Textron Inc to develop weapon systems to support US, Pakistani government helicopter fleet and US Navy.

The new contract is an update to a $925 million contract to supply fleet of attack helicopters and hellfire missiles awarded to Boeing, Bell, General Electric and Lockheed Martin in April this year.

According to the previous contract, Pakistan will receive 15 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters, 1000 AGM-114 R Hellfire II missiles in containers, 32 T-700 GE 401C engines (30 installed and 2 spares) and 17 AN/AAQ-30 Target sight systems.

The package also includes 30 629F-23 ultra-high frequency/very high frequency communication systems, 19 H-764 embedded global positioning system/inertial navigation systems, 32 helmet mounted display/optimized top owl, 17 APX-117A identification friend or foe, 17 AN/AAR-47 missile warning systems, 17 AN/ALE-47 countermeasure dispenser sets, 18 AN/APR-39C(V)2 radar warning receivers, 15 joint mission planning systems, and 17 M197 20mm gun systems.

Pakistan should try to increase the number of these helicopters to 20 and if we can manage to buy 40 WZ-10 it would be biggest boost to Army Aviation.

I suppose buying Missiles is much easier than buying Helicopters.

though not mush expensive compared to pakistani needs, but who is actually paying ?

Why you people even think that Pakistani Govt. Is totally beggar and they are hand to mouth with no money... Need to change your perception......you are talking about the Govt. not some individuals.....

Just get rid of old Cobras . AH-1Z Viper, Z-10 & Mi-35 would really make our defence strong.
