At a meeting held on July 9 in Minsk, Belarus Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina agreed to set up two committees that will deal with issues of trade-economic and military-technical cooperation.

As the press service of the State Military Industrial Committee of the Republic of Belarus informs, the commission on military-technical cooperation with the Belarusian side led by Deputy Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee Igor Bykov, from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh – Lieutenant-General of the Armed Forces Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Haq.

The Heads of Government agreed that the first meeting of the commission will be held within one month of the date of this statement.

By intergovernmental commission in the next month will develop a kind of “road map” of cooperation for the next 2-3 years, which will include the most promising projects.

Type59 tank upgrade to Al-Zarrar tank standard, Type69 tank upgrade to Type69 mk2 G :)

It was reported in 2008 that BD & Pak formed a joint venture to upgrade around 300 Type 59, T-54/55 tanks to Al-Zarrar standard but no further report came out since then...

Daily Times - Leading News Resource of Pakistan

Al-Zarrar Main Battle Tank (MBT) - Army Technology

Some sources mention they will be upgraded to Type 59G instead ..... It seems no progress was made as no deal was signed..

HIT Al-Zarrar - Main Battle Tank - History, Specs and Pictures - Military Tanks, Vehicles and Artillery
