ISIS has announced the execution of two Norwegian and Chinese hostages in its in-house magazine after earlier demanding a ransom for their release.

Images of Norway's Ole Johan Grimsgaard-Ofstad,48, and China's Fan Jinghui, 50, appeared in the most recent edition of the propaganda magazine, alongside the word 'executed'.

The highly-stylised photographs appear to show the men blindfolded and wearing black and white. In other images, they are wearing yellow jumpsuits and covered in blood.

It is believed the men were shot.

The extremist group published the images on the second-to-last page of Dabiq, saying they had been 'executed after being abandoned by kafir nations and organisations'.

'Kafir' is the Arabic word for infidel. In the images, the men both appeared to have been shot to death.

Grimsgaard-Ofstad was a graduate student in political philosophy from Porsgrunn, south of Oslo. Jinghui was a self-described 'wanderer' from Beijing who once taught middle school.

Militants did not say when or where the two were captured when they announced their captivity in a previous issue of the magazine, which showed them again in yellow jumpsuits.

The last post on Grimsgaard-Ofstad's Facebook page, dated January 24, said he had arrived in Idlib, Syria, on his way to Hama.

The extremist group published the images on the second-to-last page of Dabiq, pictured, saying they had been 'executed after being abandoned by kafir nations and organisations'

The group had previously advertised the men as being for sale. After realising that neither nation would pay the ransom demands, they hoped to sell them to another organisation.

Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg confirmed on September 9 that a citizen in his 40s had been taken hostage in Syria at the end of January.

She told a press conference today that the government cannot confirm the killing, but said 'we have no reasons to doubt it.'

She added: 'It is painful for the family and the whole country.

She called ISIS a 'barbaric group' and said 'we do not pay ransom.' She added that 'even if it hurts, we should never let the terrorists win.'

Meanwhile Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende, who attended the same press conference, said the Norwegian citizen 'was harshly mistreated,' adding that photos and videos were sent to Norwegian authorities along with demands for ransom.

Brende said the government was releasing the information in accordance with the family's wishes.

Chinese officials haven't commented on Fan's kidnapping.

ISIS controls large areas in Iraq and Syria and the killing of the two men stood in contrast to other filmed beheadings and atrocities carried out by the group since it seized a third of Iraq in a lightning advance in 2014.

The announced killings come as ISIS militants face increasing airstrikes from a variety of countries, including the U.S., Russia and France, as well as ground attacks from Kurdish and other forces.

The group's online magazine, which is titled 'Dabiq' after a town in Syria, contains articles, interviews, opinion pieces and other propaganda.

It has a professional layout, complete with photos and graphics. The latest issue celebrates the Paris attacks on its cover with the headline 'Just Terror.'

RIP to the hostages.:(

Where are those fanboys who like justifying Islamist extremist/terrorists acts by blaming the west for oppressing Muslims and invading Muslim lands reason such attacks happen. So guess China has also invaded 'Muslim holy lands' so they deserve it as well isn't it?:undecided: These fanatics/Islamic extremists will kill anybody as long as you don't adhere/follow their version of Islam or if you are a Kafir as ISIS said in this case.

@Chinese-Dragon , @ChineseTiger1986 , @Beast et al,the whole world should join hands to eliminate this scums. The world's major powers U.K, France, U.S, and Russia are already cooperating in Syria to do just that. China is the only P5 power to be absent in this case. Hope you people will one day join the game(thought to be honest i don't think that will happen).:chilli:

That's because we are the only P5 member that is still a developing country. :partay:

Our strategy will be to continue supporting the Iraqi and Syrian governments (Iraq uses our drones for example), but no direct hand. We need to become a developed country first, then we need power projection.

It would be premature to act directly, and this will continue to be the case for the next decade or so.

Every one is showing off their prowess and equipment. That place is a perfect test bed for experiment. Russia with their SU-24, 34, French with their rafale, Britain their Typhoons, and less to say anything about Americans, the better. Now only China is left.

China should show case its JF-17, 10, 31 etc. etc. Don't ask us.....We have only one LCA!!:D

the best thing China can do without getting tangled up in this mess is by giving the Kurds weapons and funding.

No direct intervention, we just sell the Iraqi government our drones. :partay:

Though it's not really a good test. Bombing ISIL is like bombing a target on the test range.

Better than nothing though, especially if one is seeking to sell equipment.

True, i understand that China still needs time to mature and developed like western powers and Russia(reason i said i don't think there will be any intervention by China).
Anyway, at least your hostage wasn't beheaded like other Hostages who were killed by ISIS. So guess their death was less painful.

The Chinese and Norwegian hostages got it good this time i must say.they could have ended up being killed this way....... Just check this out:

ISIS release of the murder of hostages
The group’s sick propaganda machine released perhaps its most disturbing video yet today showing the men enduring a slow and painful death.

In the footage, which is too harrowing to show, the victims are strung up by their hands and feet before a fire is lit beneath each of them.

ISIS claim the men were spies from a rival Shia sect but terror experts believe the atrocity could be a revenge killing following the burning to death of an ISIS fighter this weekend.

In that incident, an Iraqi soldier known as the 'Angel of Death' was filmed carving the flesh from the body of a burnt ISIS fighter who had been strung up over a fire.

Issuing a warning to ISIS militants that “we will cut you like shawarma”, Ayyub al-Rubaie, who goes by the nom de guerre Abu Azrael, reportedly burned the man alive and hung his body from an electricity pylon in Baiji.

ISIS has titled the latest act of savagery as ‘Punish them with the same harm they have caused you’.

The four prisoners were burnt alive at a location in the west of Iraq

In the opening part of the video, the four men are first made to watch the earlier video of the ISIS fighter burnt alive over an open pit.

The four men are then each forced to “confess” to the camera.

It is not known exactly where the picture was taken although ISIS claimed it was filmed in the Anbar province in the west of Iraq.
In recent weeks, a number of videos have circulated online showing groups opposed to ISIS torturing or killing their fighters, turning the tables on the barbaric jihadi network after months of ruthless killings.

The footage comes as ISIS reportedly took around 200 people hostage in a remote town in Anbar.

Trouble in Rutbah, near the Jordanian border, started on Saturday when ISIS militants murdered a local resident for killing a member of the group as part of a long-running feud.

Hundreds of residents demonstrated later that day to protest the killing and clashes broke out when the militants attempted to disperse the protesters.

An Anbar official confirmed around 70 residents were detained by the militants and more than 100 more were tied to streetlight poles for about 24 hours as a punishment.

The town's mayor, Imad al-Rishawy, said that around 200 residents are still being held by the group at an unknown location, amid fears that they might be killed.

They have such sick minds

Supcall it politics/bureacracyporting Kurds might be the best option.

We have been doing that already for a long while now. Just that our parliament still hasn't authorized our forces to go all out on these terrorists. call it political bureaucracy talks/partisan politics. Only wished we had the same system like France where the president doesn't need any parliamentary approval for foreign intervention.:(

.
China have already started the war against the extremist in Xinjiang.Dont you guys understand?when china under the terrors attack BBC and CNN claim that the CCP deprived the uyger human rights and freedom of religion. Now the west taste the pain of extremist Muslim, and they wont stop to build an Islam damn empire in Erope and Mid-East.:what:

How did you quote my words that way?

China is worrying about use of PLA overseas. If we ever start doing it we won't easily stop as we have so many friends who might need a military hand...But China really shouldn't depend on others to take revenge on the terrorists.

What i meant was that providing support to the Kurd's alone wont be enough since the U.K,Franc and U.S have all been doing that for a long time now. Apart from providing support to the Kurd's, we need to intervene directly ourselves so we can strike them more effectively.

Well, you might be right, but then again you think the U.S/U.K/France and Russia have been intervening overseas because they like to?lol No, its out of necessity and protecting our interests/citizens globally. If you want to depends on others to protect you abroad, then nobody should complain. We do everything we can to protect our interests/citizens by all means necessary, others can criticize us for that and make conspiracy theories about that, we don't care, let them carry on.:pop: Funny thing is when there is any civil war/conflict in a region anywhere in the world, everybody looks towards western powers to help/intervene and when we do they criticize us. lol

So every power has to use any means to protect its interests since no other country will do that for you.

Another recent example is the recent terrorists hostage taking in Mali where your citizens and other nations citizens were killed.

The whole world needs to support the legitimate government of Syria which is headed by Assad. Quite shocking that he is not being recognized by the leaders of the democratic western world when in fact Assad is elected in a democratic and free elections by the majority. Another thing is to support the Kurds, it's a win-win solution, they are genuine in fighting the terrorists and at the same time they are fighting against the tyrant terrorist-supporter Erdogan.
