. . . .
Didn't expect China to beat US, Russia and Canada, 3 Arctic countries, my hope was for China to beat Korea and Japan.

. .
Sweden has a chance to get their 9th gold in womens curling. They are leading in the final.

Bronze not gold. Swedish women team is fighting for bronze medal now. Men's gold medal in curling was their 8th gold medal

I'm sure much of it already had labels that said "Made in China"

I agree. Apparently they want share of domestic equipment to be even higher.

China did not "beat" those countries. Based off a point system of 3 for gold, 2 for silver, and 1 for bronze, China earned 37 points. US has earned 49 points, Russia 54 points, and Canada 41 points. All 3 countries had better overall performances.

The ranking list is based on the gold medal list, a win means you've never been defeated, a silver means you got beaten at least once, it's not a win. For the Olympics, summer or winter, it's always the number of gold come first.

Hahahahaha copium

You can use total medals system, points system, per capita system, GDP system, ethnic system, freedom and democracy system, human rights system, COVID system or whatever the hell you want to massage your fragile ego.

Bottom line is China is currently #3 in the only system the world recognises which is gold medals.

The IOC does not recognize an official ranking system. So that's a blatant lie.

While China has performed well, as expected for a home Olympics, it has not outperformed those three countries. If silver and bronze did not matter, they would not be recognized at all. Since they are, its best to use a point system to determine overall country performance.

LMAO he’s losing it.

. .
Does it mean IOC recognize your ranking system? so who is lying? did you realize you are contradicting yourself now?

Never said they did, but a weighted point system is the best way to determine overall country performance. It assigns higher value to winning gold, but still recognizes silver and bronze winners. If all that matters is winning gold, silver and bronze medals would not be awarded.
