The reverence of Cows is limited to so-called Cow belt of northern India. The Hindus in other parts of India do consume beef and also the Christians and Muslims. The Hindutva Bhakturds have cow hide shoes, belts, wallets, purses, jackets, pants, gloves, furniture, etc whic they use without any complaint. These cow hide products are products of meat industry when they process beef. Why dont these RSS pracharks first ban the Indian beef and leather industry whose exports brings in $10 billion a year and probably produces $100 billion within India.

Factually incorrect statement- cow is sacred across the length and breadth of India for Hindus-

There are greater number of muslims and christians in WB, NE, and Kerala hence there is no ban on slaughter and consumption of cow- The Hindus which eat beef are non-practicing Hindus and related to communist ideology-

Now I cannot say much about Kerala however in case of WB and NE I can write lengths- since I have stayed there for significant period-

Hindus in WB and NE never consume any kind of beef- they don't even eat goat or lamb- their primary diet in non-veg is fish and recently people have started eating chicken also- I have known many communists in central WB who would choose death over eating beef- But Kerala is a different place altogether- I cant say much about it since all I know about is from what I read and hear-

In Hinduism It is NOT a sin to use animal skin- our God Lord Shiva sits on one and wears another on his body so do our saints- using the skin of a dead animal is allowed- even in cow belt If a cow dies a poor farmer get the cow skinned for money and then bury it-

However we respect our minorities they can eat whatever they want- But there are some people here who knowingly provoke the majority- by organizing such festivals- Which makes the majority violent and these people go to the minority and say see I told you so- we can only save you from being butchered- now imagine how scared over 200 million people get who think a dozen of sadhus and sadhvis will chew them off like a chicken leg without even spitting their bones- that they fall into their trap inspite of being treated worse than slaves by these elite society people who would not even go to their house/locality without holding off their nose- To make the matter worse the other group the right wingers have left these people to their fate and don't even bother to develop confidence in them-

The problem and solution lies with the people who claim to worship cows. The dairy industry only cares of milk producing cows and older cows are either sold for beef production and let loose in streets to eat garbage. Why don't these people who worship cows buy these cows from the dairy producers and care for them. An poor farmer sells his old cow and uses the money to buy younger cow. The people who lynch people for eating beef should instead buy older cows and care for them.

I think most of your perception is based on what you see in media and over internet-

There is no diary industry in most of India- specially in cow belts Its like every 2nd and 3rd house selling milk of their cattle which they can't/won't use It is a normal practice to keep a cow If you have 3-4 kids or more in house and If you can afford- dairy is something new and is limited to metros and cities-

Cow is worshiped by people not dairies(which are commercial entities and would naturally think commercially)- sometimes cows are let loose in rural areas too- where there are enough pastures to keep them well off till they chose their place and die- But these cows are well kept they go from shop to shop and every shopkeeper feeds them with whatever they can(flour, roti, etc)- some even get around temples where they are fed by devotees who visit daily- However in cities it is different thing where money is more important-

There are organizations like Gou Dal and other which buy these old cows and use them to produce manures and other things and are running profitable business-

Yes a poor farmer even sells his milk giving cow for money-

The people who lynched the man in UP over beef had more reasons than beef over lynching- other than that every day some cow smuggler is caught- people just beat them up- shave their hair and let them go- after rescuing the cows- they are not killed- although If the smuggler fire upon the cow rescue people they get killed sometimes in self defense-

Great way to celebrate Human rights day in India. EAT BEEF SUPPORT KILLING COWS Even if it offend Large Hindus population. Who cares. All we need is to protect rights of minorities?
