CYRUS THE GREAT'S TOMB
He truly was the king of kings and made an empire and a capital which the greeks refered to as "the richest city under the sun."
The arab barbarians destroyed all buildings tombs and temples that were un islamic but legend has it that the city inhabitants, in a last ditch effort, risked their lives by lying about the significance of this tomb and saved it from destruction.
Every year tens of thousands of people pay tribute to Iran's biggest hero.
May he forever rest in peace.
One of my fav streets in shiraz.
so quiet and peaceful but not beautiful.

That is true.. but so did Persians and Afghans.. invaders like Ghauri, Ghaznavi, Nader Shah etc and many others repeatedly invaded India and plundered Indian lands...
