BD to buy 44 armored vehicles from China

Yea. Looks like those MBT 2000 are coming with heavy modification.... 200 million from 160 million indicates that later the deal is changed according to BA needs..

Damn, they must be really badass  Any info on their features? Or are those confidential? :undecided:

RPG-7 was never used by BSF. If I were you I would do my school homework first before getting into the equipment of BSF.

Well, you claimed that the BSF have anti-tank weapons without any sources. So, where's your homework? They use Kornets already or something?

Really? Look who is asking for sources the man who always put fake news and pictures regarding Bangladesh.

BSF uses 84mm Made in India (OFB) Carl Gustav/Gustaf for anti tank role.

Why brining bsf here . we were suppose to discuss about vehicle purchase rfrom china :guns:

44 not just enough unless they are being used internally.

They will be somewhat useful against Myanmar (small border) but not an enemy like India as their border guards are well equipped to fight against such vehicles/tanks before their actual Army/AF is involved.

UN mission maybe. Those missions bring in lots of money and recognition for bd. Anyway we dont have to buy 100+ tanks at one go. Our economy is not that big, so we have to build our military up slowly. For example we buy 44 vehicles this year, next year another 40+ vehicles, etc.

Thank you for your sensible reply.

Instead of buying vehicles, Bangladesh should invest in CCTV cameras across border with India, It will help them to stop illegal crossing and killing of smugllers.

Border people dont have regular electricity, how do you think CCTV can work there? Futhermore CCTV themselves will become a target, a lot of theives have stolen bulbs from lampost, iron from railroad. CCTV themselves will be stolen as well

True. Unless the border is no man's land CCTV's are no use. However this is out of question with regards to this thread. The 44 vehicles are not for border protection/guarding.

YOU are the one who started bragging about how great your anti-tank weapons are.

Since when did I post false information? And if you are so concerned, why not report my posts? Or if that doesn't work, ask mods to give you admin status.

  Yeah nice try. Do you seriously think that alone is gonna defeat a third generation tank?

Please do not be so naive.

Anyways, the BGB do not use tanks. MBT-2000s are only for the army. So, no worries.

And yes, we do need to replace our aging tanks over time

mr. garibnawaj

sir,

BA has plan to replace all her second generation tank with third generation tanks gradually.

this is first order..

more coming after getting 1st batch......

44 tanks make one regiment in BA!

this is the first regiment of 3rd generation tank we are getting........

So please spare us and show your hatred in somewhere else....

Thank you!

:hitwall:

If India decides to take the decision to teach Bangladesh a lesson, there is nothing that is stopping the Indian Armoured Formations from reaching Dhaka within days. The maximum that the Bangladesh's Armed Forces can do is set up ambushes and slow down the Indian advance, but there is no way that with current strength that Bangladesh can meet India's Armoured Formations head on, she simply lacks the deterrence numbers and not to mention the officers that are required.

Anyways getting back to the topic, Bangladesh needs to step up its military modernization plans and start acquiring the necessary numbers for a credible deterrence. Bangladesh needs to follow a similar strategy that Pakistan is following, not match India for bullet per bullet but build up credible deterrence to make victory a very costly affair. 44 Armoured Vehicles wont stand a chance against India's T90's that are thundering ahead with those massive 125 mm cannons.

What made you think BD army equipped with 44 tanks against 3500 Indian tanks??? Are you too naive? Its just a new order of 44 tanks in addition to existing 800 tanks.
