BD in talks with China on four mega projects

@Protest_again @Arulmozhi Varman - if you had your own nations like BD you too could have had these nice co-operation with chinese who are excellent infra builders. But you pay price thanks to your "indian" govt and its adventures in pangong and changi river. And in return humiliation as "madrasis".

5G

5g is not only about IoT and AI or automotion needs far greater speed than 5g to be of any real use....

However importance of 5g can not be understated..... in a post corona world i see schools collages providing education over the net. I see doctors/solicitors/accountants/banking/tax and other government services all getting delivered remotely but also with a personal touch.

Where it comes to communication we must never delay.... always be there at the forefront....the dividends are always greater than the investment.

Sorry buddy , corruption halts all ours dreams of any advancement

I firmly believe that China is the only safe provider of loans for Bangladesh. In the last 45 years of our diplomatic relation, China has never showed its back to Bangladesh. Bangladesh will grow with China. Long live Bangladesh-China friendship.

First we need to fix 4G coverage, you have to look at things objectively, mobile internet coverage is horrendous outside the cities.

If you're talking about broadband connections unless you're in Dhaka or Chittagong kiss goodbye to high speed fibre optic internet at competitive rates.

Bangladesh can get 5G after they fully implement 4G, I see operators keep begging BRTC for extra spectrums to boost signals, but to no avail.

The system is inherently flawed, what will you do with 5G, when the regulatory board is hell bent on keeping mobile connectivity in Bangladesh at 2000 levels.

We need to improve 4G speeds by approving the operators request for more spectrums, incentivise the setting up of more cell towers in all areas of Bangladesh not just the cities, thereby ensuring fast and efficient 4G network coverage all over Bangladesh.

Then and only then does 5G come into play, go up from the bottom not the other way around.

5G is another election manifesto pipedream that BAL floated back in 2018, I'm sorry, I'm not going to back them when they want to spend millions to implement 5G when it will yield fck all and whilst having piss poor 4G connectivity.

Step by step we go, 5G isn't for us, not for the time being, I can see it being a thing post 2025, If we can improve our 4G connectivity during that time period.

We should really stop implementing projects in Bangladesh just for the sake of implementing X and Y project costing $Z,zzz,zzz....

There are a lot of projects that are simply unnecessary at this time for example Dhaka Chittagong Bullet train, when we don't even have high speed trains in BD over 90 KM/h.... (This project is atleast a decade ahead of its time realistically speaking, who will pay 2,000 taka to get from Dhaka to Chittagong ?)

And this 5G project is the crème de la crème of such showpiece, vote pandering projects.

4G and 5G are radically different technology and the latter will fix the issues you have mentioned. 5G is here, we should immediately move to 5G and not spend a single tk on 4g network, it is now a waste of money.

Others maybe are vanity projects but 5G should not be considered as such. If BD wants to usher in digital BD this is the absolute foundation block.

Again we can reverse engineer current rocket engines
Before BD goes after reverse engineering of rocket engines, it should at least show its people's great talent by reverse engineering a Steam/Diesel Locomotive.

BD imports all these items from China, Korea, the USA and others and receives gifts from India.

development isn't linear.

China didn't have many land lines in the 1970's and 1980's. When mobile came out in the late 1990's, China just completely switched to mobile. China used to be a cash society, never much credit cards even in the 2000's. But in 2012 mobile payment came out, so people didn't even bother with credit card infrastructure and went directly to mobile payment. In contrast, look at Japan as a counterexample. They had great infrastucture in the 1970's and 80's. But now it's all legacy sunk cost that makes it hard to improve. Japanese companies still use fax machines, land lines and have software that looks like it's from 1995.

why do you have to build 4G first? Just save the money and go directly for 5G. same with low speed rail. low speed rail costs aren't that much lower than high speed rail (maybe 1/2) but high speed rail is 4x faster, so capacity per cost is lower.
