I don't think Pakistan Army & ISI would have just let RD go that easily, definitely they might have bargained some edge in the best of interest of the nation, which may not be disclosed to the public immediately, but the results may show in some time in future. Who knows only when the results come out, then definitely citizens would start again loving the forces. They are a bunch of patriots, they wont let go this opportunity so easily, they would have extracted more then required from the US (I don't mean financially obviously some strategic benefits against India?)

I have been watching BBC and CNN and guess what there is nothing relating to Davis or drone strikes in Pakistan. I mean we are not developed as the western countries but at least we have a free media.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) was on a high alert and was conducting strict vigilance of the country’s airspace, a BBCUrdu report said.

PAF intensified air patrols over the country’s northwestern tribal areas after a US drone attack in North Waziristan killed over 40 civilians.

PAF had also cancelled the holidays of functionaries assigned to keep vigil on the country’s airspace.

Moreover, the airforce has also cancelled the weekly offs of all officials and functionaries, the report said.

A PAF spokesperson declined to confirm or deny the reports.

Pakistan is not center of the world. The BBC news is dominated by Japan and Libya now. However you can go to BBC website south asia section, both news Items were in bigger font than other news item.

Legally, there is nothing the Us can do if Pakistan shoots down a us drone or even a us jet over Pakistani airspace, since no agreement between the Us and Pakistan on such operations exists officially, and the un has not authorized operations by isaf in Pakistan. In fact, reports from un officials indicate a belief that the strikes are illegal.

Imo, given public outrage in Pakistan over the Davis fiasco, now is a great time to make Us-pak cooperation more transparent and demand that Pakistan control drone strikes in Pakistan with us officials as observers, or no drone strikes period.

The present arrangement suits both. Pakistani side gives intelligence and US the firepower. If pakistan does both, who will it blame for bad intelligence or civilian casualty.
