Actually the part in the news article were it stated radio presenters refused to play Pakistani music was reported nearly a decade ago. This was highlighted by listener and brought up on UK based Islam channel. Indian (Hindu and Sikh) radio presenters refused to play Pakistani Qawalis & Urdu / pop songs. Nothing came of these accusations but clearly the BBC hires racist workers. The Sikhs in Britian are becoming increasingly vocal agaisnt Muslims and Pakistanis, associating with the far right. One such group are Sikh Youth Birningham.
The word P*ki was first used by the racist far right National Front who would use the term 'P*ki bashing' to beat up any south Asian immigrant back in the late 60s,70s and 80's. The term P*ki became familiar with attacks on south Asians as a whole.
The irony is in the UK most of the catering business which serve south Asian cusine are either owned by Pakistanis or Bangladeshis. Indians hardly venture in the catering business.
According to insiders, one of the men suggested they refuse to play any music by Pakistanis on the breakfast show even though the network was set up to cater to all Asian groups.

The only interaction with Sikhs I've had has been with refugee Afghan Sikhs and they have been very decent and respectable people. Sikhs have been used in the past to fight British wars and they have always came out the worst such as the Jullunder massacer and ofcors 1984. Yet they still claim to uphold their honour. I do not like to disrespect anyone's faith but Sikhs as people in general do have historic grudge towards Muslims especially Pakistanis. For some reason they associate the Mugals to today's Pakistanis. I wonder if the BBC will make an unbiased DOCUMENTRY showing the good side of Pakistan celebrating 70 years of Indo Pak independence due to be aired on Wednesday 9pm BBC 1. In the past the BBC have always shown how Muslims of Punjab were responsible for the communal riots during partition. The sikhs HAVE to support and latch on to Far Right White racists and be vocal with their racism against Pakistanis/Muslims. Because by themselves, without anyone to latch on to and no one to be racist against, the sikhs are a worthless, inferior, destroyed, ugly and diminishing entity that is completely irrelevant on the world stage. Which no one is interested in and no one really wants to know or talk about. After 1984, the sikh consciousness and potential growth into a meaningful entity has been destroyed FOREVER. Nothing can ever change that. The sikhs have to hate and permanently talk about Pakistanis/Muslims because without that, THEY are NOTHING. And they know it. Also you have to remember that for whatever reason, sikhs worship white people and see them as their gods.
Also their is Religious envy. The sikhs hate Islam yet we are the fastest growing religion worldwide with nearly 2 billion followers. Wheras sikhism is an irrelevant faith that no one outside india really knows about & their numbers are diminishing. As is their presence and power. There are no more than 26 million sikhs wirldwide. Funny thing is that, 1000s of White English people (that the sikhs worship and crave to be) are converting to Islam each year and none of them give 2 hoots about sikhism :

I don't follow your sentiment agaisnt the Sikh faith (Sikhi) as Pakistan is home to its own indigenous Sikh community who are very pro Pakistani, people like Major Harcharan Singh who is a devout Sikh. We shouldn't abuse his faith as Pakistan is equally his as it is to each of us. Pakistan is home to several ancient holy Silh Gurdwaras. It is Pakistans duty to protect them as they are on our land. Pakistan cannot act like Israel as to what they are doing to Masjid Al Aqsa, weaking its structure, enforcing curfews, or stopping Muslim Palestinains from worshipping their. Regarding Indian Sikhs especially in the west have a profound hatred for Pakistanis. Some of the troubles have been brought on by Pakistanis also further straining community relations.indian sikhs have the DEEPEST hatred for Pakistanis out of ALL the communities in the world. Alot of them openly want the complete genocide of the entire Pakistani race and then of Muslims as a whole. Their atrocities of 1947 against us is evidence of this. NO OTHER PEOPLES on earth have committed a genocide against us apart from the sikhs. I hate them with a deep passion. What the indian authorities did to them in 1984 was brilliant. The good news is that sikhism is dying out all over the world and they are now collectively a meaningless and irrelevant entity on the world stage.
While it is true we need to be aware that within Sikh community there is a strong anti-Pak undercurrent but i can say I have close contacts with some Sikhs and they are cool. However I see why Pak4Ever holds a ambivalent position. I do appreciate his posture and I know where he is coming from.I don't follow your sentiment agaisnt the Sikh faith (Sikhi) as Pakistan is home to its own indigenous Sikh community who are very pro Pakistani, people like Major Harcharan Singh who is a devout Sikh. I also understand his feelings but in such circumstances it is better to remind Sikhs of where their two holy Gurdwaras in Nankana sahib and Hassan Abdal are, Pakistan. Just as a reminder that Pakistanis are not the enemy of Sikhs. While it is true we need to be aware that within Sikh community there is a strong anti-Pak undercurrent but i can say I have close contacts with some Sikhs and they are cool. However I very much believe in Muslims (Pakistanis) in the west learning or developing thier own self defence system as the Jewish community developed Krav Maga in Chzec-Slovakia during the Second World War. Muslims especially Pakistanis need to learn a combat skill unarmed and armed. While it is true we need to be aware that within Sikh community there is a strong anti-Pak undercurrent but i can say I have close contacts with some Sikhs and they are cool. The few decade old Sikh empire came into existence from the centuries old Mugul rule. The Sikhs can never claim the land of Pakistan as theirs. Muslim have walked on the land of five rivers centuries before Sikhism even came into existence. What next claim Afghanistan to be the land belonging to the Khalsa?I would agree. I have seen a lot of Punjabi Sikh show so much hatred on Pakistan because they think we are in their land (Ranjit Singh Kingdom), plus that Indian guy who was held prisioner in Pak (forgot his name), and God knows what other issues they have. Of course not everyone is like that but there exist some people who would wish we disintegrate.
A sikh and another indian were sacked from the BBC Asian network for racist remarks against Pakistanis and sexiest remarks against a White employee:

What this whole episode conveys is that Pakistanis & indians CAN NEVER EVER share the same platform or work together as a unified entity in the media. The differences are FAR TOO huge too gap. There should be a BBC indian network and a BBC Pakistani/Muslim network. Funny thing is that this also ends the myth of a "shared South Asian identity" especially when you consider how many Mosques and Islamic TV stations there are wherby Pakistanis, Arabs and Turks run them together smoothly and cordially. Here in the UK we also share a sense of brotherhood with these other Muslims that we don't with indians.
Wow!! so River originated in 1947 to LOLLet's talk about naming your entire country after a Pakistani river/province...
Most primary schoolers manage to answer this...

I have met Sikhs in Pakistan and over here in The Netherlands. Not all of them are bad. The ones in Pakistan are highly patriotic. Over here in The Netherlands we are a close knit community. Indians, Pakistanis and Sikhs get along okay. It is a tiny country so that is probably a factor.
You are right about the British Sikhs though. During my time in England I did notice that some were a different breed. What you describe as being hateful towards Pakistanis, Muslims etc. is probably because they want to belong to the fold. Too bad, they don't belong anywhere with such an attitude.
No matter how hard some of us try to unify, there is no common ground. You are on the money regarding the differences. It just won't work and the Brits already figured it out during the colonial rule. We should count ourselves very lucky for having our own land and freedom.
