Look at the amount of butt hurt this battle still causes. Whatever the circumstances leading to this battle, Muslims were outnumbered and won not because of false bravado but due to one leadership something which Muslims lack today.

I like how all Muslims haters are forgetting that Meccans had started the persecution of Muslims. Hindutwas sticking up for Meccan pagans, maybe those Meccan pagans were also ancient Hindutwas.

The fact that most Meccans would live to tell the tale shows Prophet Muhammad(saw) showed mercy to his worst enemies. After conquest of Mecca he could have easily ordered the massacre of all of Meccans( a known practise during those times), yet he didn't. That's quite revolutionary for 7th Century.

Didn't know Qadianis were that dumb. If Meccans wanted to exterminate Muslims in Medina, they would have formed an alliance with the rest of pagan tribes and started the hostilities. Instead, it was Muslims that didn't let Meccans at peace by repeatedly attacking their trade caravans. And when Meccans retaliated, they were defeated, hence all that 'glory' of Islam.

Yes, lets forget about the random innocent muslims being killed in Mecca by the Quraish prior the migration of the Muslims to Medina. Let's forget about the forced boycott of the Hashemites in an attempt to subdue or wipe out the Muslims and their supporters through the use of starvation, coercion and violence. Let's forget about the Meccan raids in the outlying areas of Medina prior to the battle of Badr, Let's even forget the Meccans had confiscated all Muslim goods and properties in Mecca prior to the battle of badr.

As I said, raids were continuing from both sides because they were at war. I don't know whether you omit the simultaneous raids being conducted by the Meccans purposefully or are unaware of them.

Except that in Christianity Jesus,or the prophet before him (John) don't pick the sword to kill ,rape other people and destroy their cities.The know that their Divine mission can be acomplished by God and their deeds,there's no need for human wars .They sacifice themselves without lifting a finger in their defence when their enemies come for them because they know that God's plan is more powerfull than millions of human swords on Earth.They do not need people to kill for their religion,they do not need their religion spread by the sword.Did people sometimes spread Christianity by the sword ? Yes ,they did but that was not the message of Jesus,unlike Muhammad.That's what sets this two apart ,making one the Son of God,without any fears on Earth ,no frustrations and the other just a man,a man who needed swords to protect him,armies to kill others in his name,a man like others with fears,anger and lust.

1. The meccans were actually preparing for a bigger war. The merchant carvan was sent specifically to earn profits and probably war equipment too.
2 Quresh had invested everything in that carvan so they can use the profit for war and original investment back to them.
3. So much so that they looted muslms abandoned locked home in mecca.
so thats why muslims were trying to stop caravan.

U mean an army of 313 men : 2 horses ; 2 swords and 70 camels tried their best to go to war against 1000 fully armed men with 200 horses...

i think 2 were armored. rest is true.. anyway as Madina people were farmers so they weren't having modern weaponry..for instance even if they had sword, those might be short or whatever which cannot be classified to sword. u know farming equipment can also be used as sweord etc.

Very well said! Applauded! There is a reason why both Christianity and Judaism transformed into civilised world but not Islam.

thanks for your point of view guys. just need to point out that Muslims in these wars picked up the swords for self protection maybe the times dictated that and this military confrontation was only for few days compared to the rest of the years of Muhammad's life as a prophet. DO note though given the place and time battles were a common place pre Islam.
