Not necessary. In head on defense it can be employed against hypersonic missile as well. Guidance and tracking are major factor after a threat is detected. That's how it works at least according to me. Thank you.

actually 50 % credit also goes to MF star radar also becoz early detection of Supersonic cruise missiles is very
important for sucessful interception of a supersonic cruise missile
as supersonic cruise missile give very less reaction time

BTW in other indian defence forum(DF!) it was confirmed by an israeli professional that it had interecepted a supersonic cruise missile

that missile is hypersonic at terminal stage that cannot be called a proper cruise missile with sustained hypersonic speed through out it's flight time

so if early detecttion at it's mid course phase is done then it can also be intercepted so do brahmos I

Some have claimed it at mach 5 some at mach 10, while g force is given at 25. While for Barak its mach 2 speed with maneuverability increased in last homing stage with pulse motor. So in theory it can but main concern is detection and tracking. I don't think we have detection and tracking system in our system and AESA radars give limited space which can be used by electronic countermeasures more effectively compared to anti missile system. If BARAK can detect Dhanush anti ship missile then only I will have believe in this missile against DF 21 anti ship missile. As both are quasi balistic missiles with similer unique capabilities. For now in theory only but that too very thin belief. Thank you.

for that we have installed MF star aesa radar on our latest kolkatta class destroyers

to be compatible with Barak 8

nowadays all nations are wanting supersonic cruise missiles so we must have a Naval SAM which can engage supersonic cruise missile
like ASTER -30/15 SAMS to face future threats

Anti Ship ballistic missile is a myth; not so because such a missile could not be developed, but because it's supporting structure ( 100s of Leo satellites + Dozens of long wave radars ) is prohibitively expensive.

In my opinion if it is able to hit yakont, there is good possibility that two barak missiles can take down one Bramhos if equipped with powerful radars. It will be easier to counter Brahmos than Dhanush and Shourya quasi ballistic missiles. Thank you.

At both places but first in Israel.

Such theories are not universal. And above mentioned missiles are not exactly ballistic ones, they are quasi ballistic. That creates big difference and support infrastructure comes down for pinpoint attack profile. Thank you.
