Bangladesh’s Hindu population rising: Sushma Swaraj tells Rajya Sabha

It never happened. All the hindus of Bangladesh those who were mostly economic migrant to India after going there spread this story of genocide to get much sympathy and has given rise to the propaganda in India. But their land of milk and honey has not delivered the result that they were expecting so many are returning back. That is the reason why you are seeing rise of the hindu percentage.

Sounds very similar to Pakistan

Read the article and you will find it, it is related to the topic that in Bangladesh persecution on minorities does not happen which happens in Pakistan according to Indian Foreign Minister and India raised it at the UN human right council.

Regarding minorities in Pakistan they are just migrating to India which is what indicated at the article.

Sushma Phuppo cannot digest brown bread without taking Pakistans name

Sounds very similar to Pakistan

because it is the same routine, the same players, the same plan

It is the same bullsh!t. Pakistani muslims making life hell for hindus and hindus going to their dreamland India where they live in slums and then come back after getting a good touch of reality. Still all that genocide Pakistani hindu population has more or less remain stable in fact Pakistan is among those countries who have the highest hindu population increase in the world.

Yes it will. And no it won't merge. Nepal has the distinction of having the highest Hindu population by % in the world therefore making Nepal the most Hindu country. But has India merged with it?

Because of different people they dont merge. The Mongol feature Nepalis wont merge with majority Indic population of India. If the Madheshi people were dominating people they would surely merge with India.

Even Hindu Gurkhas dont want to live with Bengali Hindus in a same state:

There is no such difference between Bangladeshi Bengali Hindus or Indian Hindus. Only Muslim people keep the countries separate

Doesn't this sound fishy to anyone? 8.4% to 10.7% is roughly 2-3 million people within 6 years. The total population of the country went from 153M to 165M within that same time. You're telling me a quarter of all people born or immigrating to Bangladesh in the past 6 years were Hindu?

Majority of the Bangladeshi hindus migrated to west bengal or assam. But economic condition of these places is not that great. They got their reality check on their dream land of milk and honey. As a result many are returning back.

If Modi raz continues, they will have hard time keeping west bengal in India. Bangladesh is a far cry.

Anti Hindi-Ram sentiment is rising at the same time pro-Hindi groups are rising to. Complete polarization between India first v Bengali first. The situation is like 1960s of east Pakistan. I know Indians arenot stupid like Pak generals to start a civil war and separation wont happen. But it will create tension and destabilization for sure.

As per estimates of the Bangladesh Bureau, country’s Hindu population has increased from 8.4% in 2011 to 10.7% in 2017.

New Delhi: Countering perception that the population of Hindus in Bangladesh was declining, the government today quoted official records of that country to state that it has instead risen by two per cent in 2017.

Responding to questions in the Rajya Sabha, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj also said the government has from time to time raised the issue of the plight of minorities in Pakistan, Bangladesh and other countries at the bilateral level and made efforts to take them to a logical conclusion.

She urged members to pass the Citizenship Act amendment bill, pending in the Upper House, to help resolve issues pertaining to atrocities and attacks on minorities, including those in Pakistan.

“About the demographic changes in Bangladesh, as per statistics of the Bangladesh Bureau, in 2011 there were 8.4 per cent Hindus in the country, which has risen to 10.7 per cent in 2017.

“A perception that Hindus are migrating from Bangladesh and that their population is falling, has been formed,” she told the House.

Swaraj told members that as far as the treatment of minorities in Bangladesh is concerned, it is true that there have been incidents of attacks on minorities but Bangladesh government has taken action, as claimed.

In her written reply, she said there have been reports of violence and harrassment against members of minority communities in neighbouring countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, which include killings, persecution, intimidation, abduction, forced conversions, desecrations and vandalisation of places of worship and attacks on business establishments.

“These incidents are a matter of concern to the Government. Concerns in the matter are regularly conveyed to the respective countries at bilateral level,” she said.

She also said that the government of Bangladesh has made it clear that it considered the attacks against members of the minority communities a serious matter and takes stern action against the perpetrators.

The government of Afghanistan has also assured that it takes all possible steps to protect its citizens, including religious minorities, she said.

Citing the Brahmanbaria incident in Bangladesh, she said 67 people have been arrested there and judicial process is on and the culprits are in jail.

Similarly, she said, another incident happened in Rangpur and the person who tried to incite the locals was also in jail and the judicial process was also going on in this case.

“We do not remain silent by just raising it bilaterally, we also ensure to take them to logical conclusion,” she said.

On the issue of minorities migrating from Pakistan, she said though this issue pertained to the Home Ministry, she will respond taking collective responsibility. She said a number of steps have been taken for their welfare.

“We have not just introduced but also got the Citizenship Act passed in the Lok Sabha and would urge the Rajya House to pass the same, as it is pending in this House.

“All their issues will be resolved if they get citizenship here. We provide them a two-year long-term visa initially and then a five-year long-term visa. Our Citizenship Act says that after seven years, if they stay here, they can be granted citizenship,” she said.

“I would urge the members to pass the Citizenship Act amendment bill in this session itself, as the last session could not function. All problems pertaining to such issues will be resolved,” she added.

The minister said the government has raised the issue of ill-treatment of minorities in Pakistan.

She said the issue of continued poor condition and mistreatment of minority communities in Pakistan has been highlighted by India at the United Nations Human Rights Council. –PTI

We will make sure Bangladesh is completely annihilated first, so any undesirables (posing problem to keeping WB in India land wise) currently located in India can then move in and set up however they want to. This delta will be made one way open border so that Pakistan, Myanmar and any others (say Europe increasingly) that have BD illegal roaches, can ship them back there, no questions asked. @django

This "new-BD" will do a much better job helping Rohingya settle in and integrate into the delta land of their forefathers.

Everyone benefits basically, except for your kind I guess....so be careful what you wish for.

Keep your wet dream to yourself. Bangladesh will not do anything, everything will happen from within India. What West Bengal and NE Indian states have got by joining India instead of going downwards over the decades? When epar bangla people will start to see opar bangla people are progressing more then them who were lagging behind much if we consider early 20th century, they will start to evaluate what they have got by remaining with India. West Bengal and NE Indian states are nothing more than sub rated states in India now.
