BD will probably fully exit LDC status in 2021* (and that is going to wreak havoc on their totally RMG reliant economy because of massive reliance on LDC quotas)....Pakistan and India were never classified as such and have much higher production, incomes and development as seen by their purchasing power parity per capita incomes. The peculiar anger from BD posters here stemming from that will always be high.

As @Khan_21 points out, Pakistan also seriously needs to update its base year for GDP before we can really use the new census data as denominator credibly for nominal USD output per capita. Till then PPP per capita remains far more relevant to comparing countries in the region and internationally for income/consumption....given:

a) it simplifies to realised consumption instead of quite faulty inflated/deflated exchange rate based nominal
b) ICP updates its basket and price level much more frequently (about every 2 - 3 years, and the main reports are every 5 - 6 years)

In fact Pakistan should look at joining SNA 2008 (not sure if it already looking at it) as the condition of that system calls for base year updating at least every 5 years.
