What's new

Bangladeshis will decide the course of the next election in Bangladesh, US will not interfere: US State Dept.

.
US seems to be taking softer stance now. This could mean either- deal with Hasina done or everything already in place to kick Hasina out and install uncle's puppet.

Not exactly. The USA is not really taking a softer stance. Its policy remains the same as before. It never demanded of an election under a CTG because it would be a direct interference. It has been promoting a participatory election.

An election without first installing a CTG or interim govt will cause a boycott by the BNP and other political parties. So, it is not a participatory election. The USA and other countries will choose not to recognize the govt.

A unilateral BAL win becomes untenable.

In any case, we have to understand that American foreign policy is not based on the "যখন যেমন তখন তেমন, হায় হোসেন হায় হোসেন" doctrine. Even after an election the next govt sticks to the decisions taken by the former. An Administration changes, but the govt policies do not change with it.

America will go through the election period of BD with the same policy that it has been pursuing for many years already.

It does not want the Chinese accessing the BoB through Burma and without a genuine election, the present BAL govt will be offered sweet Chinese money and would fall into that country's trap.

America will certainly do everything to avoid that situation. It is the BAL dictatorship without a genuine election that has made BD too dependent upon China.

America wants to rectify it by forcing the BAL govt to conduct a fair election.

Sounds familiar. When Americans interfere in any country, they always say the opposite.
Please note that Americans are not allowed to vote in Bangladesh.

So, how America can influence or interfere in the result of a general election that it just wants BD to conduct in a fair atmosphere?

@bluesky ,very simple! Money money and money , and safety of black money of high officials! Unlike you believe , Hasina isn't a deity who has divine power!

Hasina is just the front face of the establishment!

Hasina is just shikhandi , and establishment always use weapon using Hasina and Khaleda as shikhondi!
