Please dont make dumb comments. East Pakistan was supposed to be mostly joined together mostly Bengal and NE. And East Pakistan, the name isnt important but an entity whatever the name could be. It was supposed to be separate entity but came to a federation considering other independent areas of present India and Pakistan, that is why only two nations were born. Fortunately or unfortunately these areas will be Mulsim dominated but it will be secular. Many Mullahs opposed creation of Pakistan and worked for India. That is why Jamaat i Islami is historically cut short from BD. But after creation of Pakistan these Islamic constitutions were adopted discretely by pressure of moududis. But BD had nothing to do with that whatever happened in that short period. Everyone can see Bangladeshis started uprising in favor of Bangla language shortly after creation of Pakistan. Then same rule can be applied to India also as fortunately or unfortunately its Hindu dominated country so its Hindu country. Secularism was just a deception to get the Mullahs in the bucket. Infact Indian national emblem adopted a Hindu Mantra, and its national anthem is composed to please British gods and the national song is composed to worship India mother, these must be conflicting ideology of minorities.
Don't you think you are being dishonest here? Especially in the part below the dishonesty is more glaring.
Fortunately or unfortunately these areas will be Mulsim dominated but it will be secular
Muslim dominated areas didn't form East Pakistan and later Bangladesh by chance, the creation of East Pakistan (and West Pakistan) happened on religious lines to begin with. Bangladeshis / east Pakistanis of that time rebelled for a separate "Muslim state" under the command of Muslim League and formed a separate country. It was the Bangladeshis / east Pakistanis who said that they don't want to live with the Hindus, not even with the Hindu Bengalis, in fact Bangladeshis / east Pakistanis were more adamant and violent in their demand for a separate Muslim state, riots first started in the east, not in west. The logical course of action after creation of Bangladesh / East Pakistan was getting rid of the minorities, the Hindu Bengalis, by hook or by crook, and Bangladeshis / east Pakistanis did exactly that. And no, the persecution of minorities in Bangladesh didn't stop in 1971, it is still on till date, please don't blame West Pakistanis for everything Bangladeshis / east Pakistanis did.
The new country consisting of two parts, East Pakistan and West Pakistan, was nonviable since the beginning due to the thousands of kilometers of distance between them, and presence of a bigger country in between, the eventuality was fast forwarded by the colonial behaviour of the West Pakistanis. Bangladeshi / east Pakistani political leaders needed a new narrative to get separated from the other part of their Islamic nation, and the new narrative was 'Bangla', that's why I said it was a afterthought. But the newer country Bangladesh was not true to the name of their country 'Bangladesh', and that's why Hindu Bengalis are still suffering in Bangladesh and leaving their homeland in big numbers continuously every year. I doubt if there will be any Hindu Bengali left in Bangladesh by 2030.
This teacher on record admitted that he used corporal punishment on that student. I would not mind him squating for that at least.
Don't tell me in Bangladesh teachers don't give a slap or two to unruly students, he 'insulted Islam' is a better excuse.
Exactly, remember what happened in Dhaka merely a decade ago? Tends of thousands of minorities massacred in broad daylight, pregnant women dragged into streets and cut up with swords, entire families rounded up and burnt alive.. and other outrageous medieval style killings!
Err wait.. that's in Gujarat, my bad!
I don't remember the Dhaka riot well, refresh my memories.. ; )
What happens in Dhaka and all over Bangladesh is one-sided persecution of minorities, rather state-sponsored persecution of minorities by dubious laws like that blasphemy law of Bangladesh. What happened in Gujrat was a riot where both sides indulged in crimes against each other, and you would be happy to know that the main culprit who started it all by burning a train full 'karsevaks' has been caught after remaining absconding for years, most others have landed up in jails already.
